Rapture Ready "Christian" Bulletin Board HATES YOU

I don't know if anyone has heard of this site. But recently, I went over to the so-called Christian website called Rapture Ready. I made a startling discovery - they HATE YOU. That's right. They hate you.

If ANY post regards a "liberal Democrat" or a "liberal" philosophy, both the Democrat and the poster are fodder for ridicule, attacks, and all manner of namecalling. But ridicule, even CRITICIZE their god George W. Bush (or any other Republican for that matter), and it's off with your head. Believe me, I PRAYED that Kerry would get the office just to end all this nonsense (he was far more qualified anyhow).

RR strictly follows a "three strikes you're out" practice of discipline. But, if they disagree with you enough, you may go back to RR and find that you cannot login even after one warning. They don't even afford you the luxury of an Email. Why should they? You're a lousy worthless liberal.

The admins on this board run it like communist regime. Intelligent people who simply want to discuss issues that deviate from the Ann Coulter-loving, Bush-worshipping Republican status quo are "watched" and eventually kicked off by the ruthless admins. God knows these people can't be Christians. They certainly do not represent the Christianity I know. It's like an elitist country club. It's also eerily similiar to Survivor. If you don't quite "fit in," they watch you then eventually kick you off.

The point is this. Yes, there is hatred on both sides. But as Christians, we are supposed to be held to a higher standard. I have seen so much hatred and irrational nonsense spewing from the ugly mouths of mamacags, Elizabeth, and several of the dictitorial admins (Christine, Becky, Werner being the worst). I still cannot believe it. But as Scripture says, their folly will be made evident to all. And it is.

Apparently, this board is owned by Todd Strandberg. There was even a Time magazine article about it. Well he ought to be ashamed on how he is running this board. And the Admins ought to quit their day jobs.

These people disgust me. Elizabeth kisses up to mamacags to gain approval and to get in with the admins. Mamacags knows this and just laughs. She loves the attention that Elizabeth gives her; it feeds her ego. Mamacags is just about the nastiest woman on earth. She is NOT a Christian, this is just a ruse. She is clearly using Elizabeth. She eats it up. Poor Elizabeth does not know this yet, but she will soon find out. The Admins are also aware that mamacags is a faker, yet for now, they freely allow her to spew her venemous hatred all over the board.

The admins know these people and are playing them like a fiddle. When it comes down to it, the admins don't really like anybody. They just love the game. They drink in their godlike power like water, but their folly is evident to all. So it is very interesting that people like Mamacags and Elizabeth can be so horribly mean with the blessing of the admins, and yet they don't realize that it's all a ruse. They are being used. How sad. It reminds me of a disgusting high school clique. That's really all it is.

The worst thing to me is that these people call themselves Christians. They are NOT. DO NOT for a SECOND think that they represent Christianity, because they do not. The Bible talks about Christians speaking the truth in love. Not the truth of the Republican party, or political issues, but the truth that Jesus Christ came to earth to save sinners like you and me. Nobody can be so mean all the time and praise Jesus out the other side of their mouth. It just doesn't work that way.

My point is not to stir up hatred, but to expose what appears to be Christianity and yet is clearly not. I want everyone here to know that Christianity as a faith has nothing to do with Republican politics. It has to do with faith in Jesus Christ.

To be sure, there are some fine folks on the RR board. My main beef is with the admins, their buddies, and their exclusive little club called "Freenati."

Oh well. I hope this is a lesson to you all. I do hope and pray for reconciliation, but RR is making that much harder than need be. And they certainly are making it hard for true Christians to reach out to others.

And don't EVEN get me started on Ann Coulter...:mad:

it was the other way around? I haven't ever really read Revelation. My church doesn't go around that. :shrug: Never have (I'm Church of Christ). I thought that it was the 1,000 rule reign of Christ and then the rapture? In the book "Why the Church of Christ?" the author points out why he thinks there won't be any 1,000 rule reign based on Biblical scripture in the gospel books according to Christ's words. According to Christ he says that his world is not shaken and always taught not to put up your treasures on Earth but instead take up your cross and follow him. If you're interested in hearing more from him you can find the book at any local Christian book store or any store that sells Christian books.

My friend Jon is in his thirties. He is smart, successful, and has a boyfriend, a dog, a car, and a co-op. He likes Madonna (sheepishly), dancing, and Tolstoy, and he can’t stand Christians.

My friend Sarah is a Christian who is also smart, successful, and politically active. Her politics are to the left of Jon’s, and she’s out there in the streets protesting injustice whenever she sees it.

I can’t get Jon to meet Sarah. As far as he’s concerned, if Sarah is a Christian, she can’t be trusted. Jon knows this sounds foolish, but when I ask Jon how he arrived at this mistrust, his response is always, “Haven't you watched TV? Don’t you read the papers? Don’t you know what those people are trying to do to us?”

He’s right -- about the media, that is. The media has turned the word Christian into something abominable to gays; a faith that’s predicated on hatred. Read the papers, watch TV, and you’d think that Christianity was a monolithic block of homophobes whose idea of a good time is signing petitions to keep gays in chains for life.

Hi everyone...first time poster here at DU.

I am also a member on the Rapture Ready board, using the same username "Old 33" over there, too.

I am a solid Democrat. And a Christian.

And I post ALL THE TIME in Rapture Ready.

Do most of the people there agree with me? Certainly not! And I do get called all sorts of nasty things, endure all sorts of insults and attacks. But those attacks are not reflective of most of the 15,000+ members of that board...they really only come from a small handful of people.

I just wanted to step in here and refute the OP. My experience from over the past 15 months I've been a member over there is that most of the people are fine folks. And I've learned an awful lot about how the other side thinks, how they view issues, what issues and values are important to them, where they disagree with the President, where they agree with liberals...

We Democrats are in the business of trying to win elections and bring our values and our beliefs about government and society into elective office and to shape things as we believe they should be. We need to pay attention to people like the ones I've met at RR...in the popular parlance, they ARE what's the matter with Kansas. If we ever want to reclaim Kansas, we need to understand why they jumped ship in the first place, and how to get them back.

And while much of what's being discussed is terrifying and insane, the DO despise Benny Hinn (and for the right reasons) so they can't all be bad. :)

The admins tolerate abuse heaped upon anyone who praises liberal ideals as espoused by great leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jimmy Carter, and FDR. They simply ignore it unless forced to mildly admonish the offenders. My theory is the admins allow the abuse to be performed by proxy.

I've seen a liberal there banned for using the eye rolling "smiley" in response to the same "smiley" from a fundie. (link)

I don't imagine many DUers will be frequenting RR. I certainly wouldn't give it a passing glance. It seems to be just another meeting place for people with small minds and hearts full of hatred. Nothing to see there...:argh:

There type has been breeding like bunnies, they are way down on the list of people who hate me.

They'll be the ones stunned when they're "Left Behind."

I've done some Biblical studies and I have found that there is indeed evidence for the concept of the Rapture of Believers in the Bible. But I can say with certainty, though, that many of the admins, their buddies, and those "freenati" exclusive club members will be the very ones left behind.

Ironic, isn't it? The very ones who started this board to discuss the Rapture will be the ones left behind. What a grand delusion!

In my heaven the rapture has already occurred and is in fact an ongoing thing. All the animals and plants and people who had their lives taken by injustice or hatred or carelessness are there.

I get that you want to show the RR their own hypocrisy, but that revelation has to come from within if at all. You cannot force it upon them. That will only drive them further into denial.

Nonetheless, if there was a rapture, I suspect it would be very surprising who would be left behind.
