My final message to scamdy.com

read the threads, everyone. In the end it was proven that these people had no other motive than to torture a gravely ill man, his family and friends.

Andy has died and this world is less for it. His family and friends mourn their loss.

The only place this discredited site now has to go is to blame a dead man for his own ills. They know in their hearts and they will have to meet their maker and take responsibility for their heartless actions.

They will continue to work hard to justify their inhumane actions with no apology for the pain they have caused.

scamdy.com is just another useless and out-of-date site with the supporters patting themselves on the back for some imagined 'noble' act on their part.

Pity them is all we can do.

I'm sorry to say that I am a little out of the loop on this one...did someone actually put together a web site regarding the contributions to Andy being a scam??

That is unbelievable to me...that someone would put in this kind of effort into something so hateful.

Sometimes I do not like people very much...

3. It's disgusting over there

a fellow DUer made a phone call or two and has completely discredited everything those 'people' said and did.

I now understand everyone's animosity from here. I didn't before until I saw for myself the lengths these people went to. It's hard to believe people like this even exist.

9. Yes, it's true

the whole sordid episode has been more vile than the most abusive porn imaginable. The red light district of Bangkok looks like The Children's Hour by comparison.

They will have to face our Maker some day about their treatment of an innocent man.

Here's the really fun part, the person who set up scamdy.com originally tried to register it in Kelvin Mace's name.

And all they do now is bitch and whine about why didn't he get treated earlier. You have to know that it's typical with cases like this. It takes a long time to get an accurate diagnosis. And it is also typical to get a second opinion and visit different docs. Andy wasn't any different in that regard. We always think we have more time than we do.

Godspeed, Andy. We'll leave a candle out for you. :hug:

We all have to go through our stages of grief and realization. Please don't worry about this post. It will help others.

When I have gone to those other places, I am often reminded of this:

I did a WHOIS check, and it seems the site is registered with phony contact information in violation of ICANN rules. There is NO valid address and a phony phone number in the contact info.

Let's all focus on remembering Andy right now. Those 'people' deserve no attention. Their crocodile tears disgust me...

You face an interesting dilemma-- shut down this cesspool you've created now that the sick guy you set out to torment has actually died, and in so doing acknowledge your mean spiritedness, or keep up a brave face and pretend that it was all somehow worth it, that you have not exposed yourselves as utterly callous, self involved wankers over the misfortunes of a man dying a protracted and painful death. I'll bet the keyboards got particularly sticky around here when he had his last stroke.

Ultimately, I suspect the worst punishment I could wish on you is that you be yourselves. You'll spend the rest of your lives knowing that you did this. If THAT doesn't torment you, you'll only confirm the ugliness of your own nature, and if it does, well, you deserve that, and more.

I'm gonna go drink a beer now-- my own private wake for Andy Stephenson-- and when my bladder is good and full I'll be thinking of this site and you, its administrators, when I let go a long hot spatter over the back porch rail.

Andy posted here on DU that his May 10 surgery was delayed because the mail room at Johns Hopkins misplaced his check. Nothing to do with Paypal which Andy posted had held back all of $10 on someone's complaint. I choose to believe Andy, not the re-writing of history that some opportunists are creating for reasons best known to themselves. It's fairly unfathomable to me why people would try to promote and puff up themselves at a time like this.

I thought Paypal had withheld the money because of what the freepers were doing? From what I remember reading, some freeper had contacted Paypal and told them the money Andy had raised was done fraudulently and they withheld those funds until they had proof from John Hopkins? Then, after John Hopkins received the money, some office worker left it on her desk and postponed the surgery further. If I'm wrong...I must have missed a big part of the story by not being here on a day Andy posted something. Last I knew...they had withheld funds. Period.

a little after 1 AM today. I registered, and left a simple message (which I signed, so they knew exactly who I was) consisting of a statement and a question:

Naw, I'm done with that. I think we should set up a legal "defense" fund, sorta like the fund Andy used to finally get his operation, to hire barracuda lawyers to go after these miscreants from every legal angle with a 10% or better chance of success.

I'll pity them when they are brought to their knees financially, socially and morally.

They have all of these vile people leading their party - so how happy they would be to find that a leading liberal was scamming all of us. So they could feel better about themselves. I'm sure they really, really wished that their delusion was true.

I think it is also possible that they contributed to his death. We will never know if Andy would have died this young without the "scamdy.coms" of the world who were putting up roadblocks and such.

I think that it is way past time for them to close their site and put up an apology in it's place.

away from all the commotion because, well, I just didn't have time. But I never doubted Andy's illness for one bit.

It disgusts me how inhumane and ignorant people can be. What these people have done is incomprehensible.

Karma WILL be as vicious on them as they were with Andy. It is not a matter of IF. It is a matter of WHEN and they should be very afraid. No one escapes their karma.
