'War-on' a failure
I realized while talking with my son-in-law today that every time the US delares a 'war-on' something, that something wins. LBJ, I think, invented the concept with his 'war on poverty'. How would you say old poverty is doing these days?
Then Nixon's 'war on drugs'. That's been pretty successful.
Wasn't there a 'war on illiteracy'? I can't remember all of them. But it's looking like ol' W has created the least successful of the 'war(s)-on' with his 'war on terror'. Terror is now trading at an all time high. Way to go George!
Too bad Vegas doesn't take bets on these 'war(s)-on'. I could get rich quicker than I would in privatized Social Security. Is there a 'war on Social Security'?

1. Ford: "Whip Inflation Now"!
He even had a songwriter do a ditty: Let's WIN together, WIN together...

2. IMHO, the undeclared war on the middle class is winning.
Does it have to be a declared war?
