How to become a delegate?
I want to attend the convention in 2004. I'm only a lowly precinct commiteeman, so my odds are probably long. How does a person go about applying for the position? Also, are only delegates allowed to attend?

1. I'd like to know how to even become to become a
precinct comiteeman. Official party things seem pretty intimidating.

2. It is really very easy, yet rules vary in many areas...
in Michigan precinct delgates are needed in many areas. You need to file with your local clerk's office to get on the ballot. Then, tell a few friends and neighbors to vote for you. I received more votes than I thought I would.

Call your clerk's office to find out more...

3. Contact your state party
and get a copy of your state party rules. Everything you want to know is there.
