I don't like Pat Buchanan, but I gotta admit he's got balls...
he keeps harping on "who put the 16 words in the SOTU and who forged the documents?"

Just a minute ago on MSGOP tv...

Sometimes I feel like a motherless child.

(younger DUers won't get that...sorry)

4. oh oh
maybe I spoke too soon :)

If you've never heard the classic renditions you should search em out. This is an old old song, from 1919 I think. Somewhere around then.

5. Actually, I think it was Odessa or Richie Havens that did it originally
I believe it is one of those old spiritual songs that the slaves brought with them....

7. It Means He's Courageous
It means he's courageous, the way men are courageous. Unlike women, men do not always flee from danger. Sometimes, when the situation requires it, they overcome their fear and do what needs to be done.

Why are you shaking your head? That's what having a pair of balls means.

</sarcasm>

10. It was my of saying that even a blind pig finds the occasional acorn.
Are you trying to bait me?
sheesh
:eyes:

If you are male, you know about balls. And if you're female, you know about them too. They are the pair of organs just below the cock.
I thought they still taught these things in Bio 101. Maybe not.

16. YES I'M TRYING TO BAIT YOU
Please desist with the BALLS references. Inferring that only MEN have COURAGE is just f***ing NONSENSE.

3. I don't like him either.
He's a nazi bastard but I do think he has integrity.
And why do you think the young'uns won't know Sarah Vaughn? I think that's the definitive version. I'm sure Bessie Smith had a hit with it too but don't quote me on that.

6. Buchanan should run again ! Perot redux !
His isolationist anti-neocon ideas would appeal to the dissafected Bushies, but his anti-minority and anti-immigrant ideas would guarantee no liberal support.

DRAFT BUCHANAN NOW !

8. Yeah, right! How brave of Buchanan
to ask the same question millions of Americans are asking.

I guess it doesn't take much to get praise on DU, so long as it's a Republican.

9. I'm sorry, I don't grasp what you are saying. Pat is -barely- a Repug,
but in any case, why would you complain about me praising him for asking relevant and important questions?

11. Yeah, right
IF an abhorrence for taxes, homosexuals, feminists, liberals, and immigrants makes one "barely a Repug", then Bush* is barely a Repug.

why would you complain about me praising him for asking relevant and important questions?

Because Buchanan does nothing for anybody but himself, and therefore he deserves no praise, especially from a liberal. You'd be making better use of your time if you praised, by username, each and every DUer who has been asking those very same "relevant and important" questions for months now, and didn't have to wait until the entire world caught up with the truth the way the "brave" Buchanan did.

17. Our salvation will be in coalition politics in 2004
I think we are going to need to smokem peace pipe with our political adversaries in order to rid ourselves of this extremist, unelected dictator who is bankrolled by a corporate fascist monolith.

We have to be willing to sacrifice some of our ideals and build a coalition of divergent political thinkers whose common ground is the need to perserve our democracy.

Buchanon, in another time and space, would be someone I'd wouldn't bother to give 5 minutes to. But today, I'll be happy to have anyone of any political persuation join me in getting rid of this anti-democratic cabal that has hi-jacked our democracy.

12. Yes Buchanan is a fucking pig, but some are missing the point here....
... A fucking pig who hates the Bush Criminal Empire as much as we do can only encourage other like minded pigs to hate the Bush Criminal Empire too.

Within the last week, Dip W Shit Jr has been attacked on the right by Pat Buchanan, Pat Robertson, and even a fellow Texas right winger Ron Paul, among others. Whether you find any or all of these guys to be vile is not the issue. The fact that they can shred Junior's right wing base IS.

And in that, they have my full support

13. I saw him on McLaughlin Group Sat. nite...
And he made the point a couple of times that the question should be "who insisted on making the nuke claim in the SOTU"? He also (twice) pointed the finger at Condi and the Pentagon (Rummy, Wolfie, and Perle). McLaughlin agreed with him.
Yeah, he's a Nazi. But he also was one of the 1st whistle blowers on PNAC. Of course PNAC is based on 'what's good for Israel is good for the USA', so of course the Jew-hating bastard would be anti-PNAC.
Having said that, does it matter? Isn't getting the message out to a different audience what's important? Whatever his 'agenda' is, is his business. We have ours, he has his... but this time we're singing the same tune.
Is that the point Karl?

14. Pat B. was against tne Iraq war from the first hint. He's an old guard
conservative. He has a good sense of humor and is consistent on his principles.

I disagree with 90 percent of his positions.
