Bring Back Bill Moyers
That's all I want, just one fair and honest journalist on the air.

1. I don't think Bill Moyers wants to be brought back.
From what I understand, he's happily retired.

2. Actually, he has hinted that he's at least considering it
First, let me assure you that I take in stride attacks by the radical right wingers who have not given up demonizing me although I retired over six months ago. They’ve been after me for years now, and I suspect they will be stomping on my grave to make sure I don’t come back from the dead. I should point out to them that one of our boys pulled it off some two thousand years ago after the Pharisees, the Sadducees and Caesar surrogates thought they had shut him up for good. I won’t be expecting that kind of miracle, but I should put my detractors on notice, they might just compel me out of the rocking chair and back into the anchor chair.

4. I don't think so. I've listened to him on several interviews.
He said he's not retired and has several thinks in the planning stages. He's always very professional, but you can tell he's pi**ed about what happened at PBS.

5. I've heard that he wants to do specials and whatnot...
You know, the occasional program (sort of like Maria Shriver did, only meaningful). But I doubt the man has any serious plans to get back behind a news desk on a weekly or daily news program.
And let's face it. The guy is, what, 112 years old? Instead of wishing for Moyers to come back, I'd like to see a new batch of journalists who actually practice REAL journalism. It's possible the trade could see a renaissance through young journalists, simply as a reaction to the current atrocious state of the business.

8. Retired? Not so fast!
I swear I saw Moyers on John Steward's (sp?) show recently. Said in no uncertain terms we hadn't seen the last of him. I think he's regrouping with allies. It's all getting vewy vewy intewesting lately, ain't it?

:-)

3. I agree
Can we get a petition going! If we can talk him into coming back part time.

Maybe we can talk him into kicking Paula off the air and allow him an hour slot on CNN.
