3. The Dems are taking the "Strong on Defense" plank out of the
Rethug's platform. They have beaten us up over this for decades because Dems have voted against some pork barrel military/industrial complex programs.

They are trying to show that a Strong Defense is more than a new bomber, it's boots on the ground, it's secure borders, it's safe ports and it's good friends in the international community.

4. Where's Feinstein?
I would think think she'd be alongside Lieberman.

I'm thinking they want to increase the overall number in the regular Army so that the reserves aren't relied on as much. I can understand that.

The big question is why are they doing it now? There's a traitor in the White House.

5. Now wait just a minute...
look at this a little more carefully.. that link says...

"The legislation seeks to raise the cap of the Army’s end strength, said an aide to Tauscher."

Not REQUIRE more troops to be added, but to raise the number allowed.

OK, now...

- his Chimpyness says no more troops needed... so the thugs will vote it down, then when he tries to walk into IRAN, SYRIA, etc.. it can be thrown back at them "we don't have enought troops for this, you didn't want more, this is stupid".

- let's say the thugs don't vote it down, then we can start to hit them to EQUIP the troops, to CARE for them they come home. If the thugs won't then "why did you want more troops when YOU WON'T VOTE TO EQUIP/CARE for them..."

- thugs/chimpy can't try for a draft till the cap of allowed troops is raised.

I don't see this as a 'Halliburton Welfare Act', I see it more like opening a VERY LARGE PIT to see who steps in it.

7. How about a call for withdrawal?
Since everything is so peachy-keen with 160,000 trained Iraqi troops in the field, we should be able to leave.

Not authorize a larger Imperial Army.

8. I guess Hillary wants more troops to fight the "failed insurgency" she
told us about. Or, perhaps, just maybe, she could be planning to run for prez as a right wing Democrat(R) with JoeMental or JoeBlabbermouth.

Just what we need an even more bloated military to kill people for the corporations.
