They are already celebrating. Boy are they going to be Pi*sed, when Fitzgerald final report comes out.

As long as it's on the news, it hurts Bush. An outrageous SCOTUS appointment could knock it off the news cycle though.

6. Well, Rush did say that it was over today.
And he's the font of all knowledge in the world, don't you know?

But I guess if they say it's over, well, the rest of us ought to pack it in and give up. Sigh. Oh well.

Could the last person out turn off the light?

Oh...and could someone call Fitzgerald and let him know what the Freepers decided about the Rove thing?

18. These Morans Have Been Rove-A-Doped
You'll hear Rushbo say things like "I've never led you wrong" or some qualifier, and these lemmings believe it cause to them it's always been the case. Rushbo has been part of the big lie and when he passed along his part of that lie, and it came true, he became some kind of prophet. That, and lots of Hillbilly Heroin.

His coven honestly believe he's got some true divine knowledge and that he's said things in the past that have come true...so why not now? Ahhh...the fall will be so sweet.

That Freeper server will meltdown the day the indictments are served.

It's all about faith. They won't listen to anything that contradicts their "faith" (ie what their leaders tell them). To do otherwise means they'd have to think for themselves.

under oath to Fitzgerald that they know evidence that Wilson lied?

Is John Gibson testifying under oath to Fitzgerald and the grand jury how he knows Wilson lied?

All these people declaring publicly that Wilson lied should take their evidence IMMEDIATELY to Fotzgerald of how they KNOW that Wilson lied. It must be pertinent to the case and maybe they can help solve it.

13. You know what strikes me ..
is how proud they are of Karl Rove.

Let me tell the kind of person I am (silly or good); if Karl Rove was a progressive, and I knew that he did what he has openly admitted to doing or in light of the indisputable evidence, I would be ashamed.

They believe that the means justifies the end; that is why they seem to be empty souls to me.

15. Yeah, that always gets me too.
That's the one thing that makes me think they are a different species from us. They will defend the most ugly, nasty, hateful, evil, lying crap to the bitter end, and the more ugly and nasty the crap is revealed to be, the more ugly and nasty they get defending it.

It's beyond comprehension.

If Rove was part of the Democratic Party, I would be angry and ashamed. Regardless of the "illegality" of his actions, it's still clear from this sordid mess that he's not a very nice person. And the other not-so-nice stories about him are on the web for anyone to read - it's not like you can miss it if you are trying to find out anything about him. Everybody who knows him thinks he's a nasty, evil SOB, even if they respect him or use his "gifts".

And if he were a Democrat, I would probably despise him even more than I do now. I would be angry that he was doing what he does in the name of my party. I would *NEVER* attack other people defending his lying ass, or be happy if he got away with his BS.

(And before you even ask, lurking Freeper Troll, I did in fact dislike Bill Clinton, and was embarrassed by all of his BS "depends on what the definition of is is" crap, and thought he wasted what could have been a brilliant presidency on a blowjob. I don't defend him in public to others, but must admit that I also feel that a intern BJ is just not quite as much of an problem as outing a undercover CIA agent - if that makes me a whackjob Saddam-loving hippie Communist baby killer, so be it.)

Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:36 PM by Rude Horner
...they seem to think that all this stuff is a "game" to be either won or lost. It's like their line of thinking is: "Rove got away with this!! Wooohoo! We won!!"

I think Maat hits on a major point. A big difference between "us" and "them". I believe that if we ever hear of a democrat pulling this treason shit, or stepping into a family matter to save a brain dead person, etc.... we would be furious about it. And I can't see us defending the person. But the Republicans...I tell ya - loyal past the point of criminal.

Edited on Fri Jul-15-05 10:50 PM by Montauk6
You make an excellent point, Maat.

While many believed, rightly so, that the wingers went overboard with the blowjob impeachment; many still, in the same breath, blasted Bill for his idiocy in doing what he did.

I'm truly convinced that, if the Ohio investigation shows that the election was truly stolen, the Freepers will be high-fiving each other yelling, "WOOH! DUBYA, MA MAN!!! WE PULLED IT OFF!!!"

21. well said
I was listening to the radio while out running errands last night and there was a talk show on where they were rehashing Rove's old campaigns here in Texas. Having lived here off and on, I've had several opportunities to vote for blivet** and have never done so, because I think the man has no more sense than God gave a goose. But listening to the Rove stories again brought back a lot of memories and made me realize that even if he had been a competent candidate I wouldn't have voted for him simply because of the sort of company he keeps. If you choose to surround yourself with people who routinely traffic in that sort of behavior, it says a lot more about your character -- or lack thereof -- than whether or not you claim to have strong religious beliefs.

29. Something happened to me today that sort of highlighted that point.
Edited on Sat Jul-16-05 12:15 AM by Stirk
I turned on Al Franken's show while I was driving to work, and heard them talking about Rove. I got some gas, and when I got back into my car, the first thing I heard was Franken and his saying, "yeah- his wife used to have a prescription drug habit".

I assumed they were talking about Rove's wife and I was disgusted. I thought, "I'm not listening to this creep ever again". Then they returned to the point and mentioned that it was McCain's wife who'd had a prescription drug addiction, and Karl Rove had used it as part of a smear campaign against him.

I *like* Al Franken, and I was about to turn him off forever because of (my mistakenly perceived) Rovian tactics. The Freepers are fully aware of Rove's tactics and love him for it.

"Now we don't have to confront the true character of this administration or our own idolatry and the guilt of putting them in power in the first place!"

My theory is that they can't handle the contradiction of their fanatical loyalty to the GOP versus their vain desire for an illusion of safety through domination. Anything to lessen that pain, and if there are scapegoats handy, they will do.
