The Effect Of This Flood Of Leaks and Guesses
It to take the average guy on the street and bombard him with so many misunderstood possible stories that he will never make any sense out of it at all, will be perfectly susceptible to any lie the Administration wants to follow up on, and sick of it all before any REAL information is available at all.

Its all a ploy folks. Wait for the indictments. Then we can all sit back and speculate who shot their wad on who till the crows come home.

1. Exactly so!
They keep acting like they think they can make this into a he-said she-said contest. They keep acting like if they can sow enough confusion, people will shake their heads and be resigned to never finding out the truth. Or, as you say, that the typical person will have heard so much bullshit before it's halfway over that they will stop caring whether the truth ever came out or whether or not justice was served.

All they need to operate this country is your apathy, your disgust and your tax dollars.

2. Plus...spin that its all about politics, which turns off 90% of the public

In fact, I think the real reason Rove did his little "liberals want to hug terrorist" speech in NY was to gin up the political heat so every one just shrugs their shoulders and thinks all the fuss is about politics.

3. They are acting like the public
is going to get so confused that they won't be able to follow the story. They keep playing the public illusion game but it's not our votes they need to be worried about. Only one man is voting now and he's not talking.

4. More than that: I believe the intent is to gag us with information...
feed us so much (and so many conflicting stories) our brains simply go numb. Joe Sixpack is probably there already. In fact I've been thinking about this very likelihood for several days: another reason -- or maybe the main reason -- there hasn't been any concurrent growth in Democratic popularity as der Bushler and his GOPorkers bottom out. As the Aussies say, "good on ye, mate," for posting your darker suspicions.

5. I disagree
The sheeple should keep up. I enjoy keeping up and discussing the possibilities.

6. I'm Of A Different Mind
They now keep hearing two words over and over, Rove + leak. Those words will linger.

7. Nope...not going to work this time. The average person on the street....
...knows that the NeoCons have lied to him or her, and they're going to be paying much more attention to what the opposition says at this point.
