1. Ummm . . . do you think the Prosecutor won't still be doing his job
even if Congress is involved in their own investigation?

It's not either / or. BOTH things can be going on.

5. Actually, the intervention of Congress
can be a definite detriment to Fitzgerald's efforts. It totally screwed up Iran-Contra investigation, as I recall. Better to wait until he's done, then start the grandstanding.

10. The more light that shines on these crooks, the better.
Congressional investigations and investigations by the Prosecutor.

The Repukes won't go for a Congressional investigation, anyway.

26. I think you're right about the Repubs not going for it,
but a Congressional investigation can very easily subvert a criminal investigation in many ways. I want Fitzgerald to have a clear playing field until he's done.

4. Hell no, of course not.
For some reason the opening post seems to indicate that, though. Not true, however.

6. No. Kerry wants hearings on Rove's role as a government oversight issue
and since noone is closer to Wilson than Kerry, I'd guess he has good reasons for requesting the hearings.

Kerry questioned Bush's own involvement in the CIA leak today. He wouldn't have mentioned it if he didn't know something.

13. Great...then I misunderstood what he really meant.
I would be livid if they try to take this case in house,
or in the hearing prevent information for being inadmisable(sp)
in court.

15. Is there a damage report on the leak? How come no one is
mentioning it if there is? Nothing there?

It's classified, so they can't tell us what it says, but they could at least mention if there is a damage report.

7. He mention that Congress needed to open an investigation on Rove and
the White House....

I would assume that he means Fitzgerald's case would end.
But quite frankly, I don't know what would happen in this
case.

12. A congressional investigation doesn't end the Prosecutor's investigation.
They can occur at the same time.

19. No, it does NOT
Waxman has already asked for the same thing in the House.

So, why do you attack if you do not know.

11. Rove has a security clearance
He abused it. He could do it again. This exists outside of the legal trouble he is in that will continue. If Rove is fired or quits, the legal case still goes on.

However, who knows what other damage Rove could do. He has proved that he will do anything to advance his agenda. This is a legitimate area for Congress to look into and investigate. It's supposed to be what Congress, Democratic or Republican does.

Why are yu letting Congress off the hook? Why are you supporting their desire to avoid their responsbility to the American people to function as a check to the power of the Executive branch. This is morally unconscionable and is adiing and abetting in the politicization of all aspects of National Security.

Democrats should be calling for hearings. This is their sworn duty to the American people, to uphold the law and take care of the national trust. Not doing this would be the crime.

Hatred of Kerry is no reason to throw the security of the United States of America into the trash bin. We have an obligation to the men and women who currently serve in these jobs to see that they are not put in mortal danger or have millions of dollars of set-up blown because of politically shallow reasons. This is Congress' job and applaud Mr. Kerry for reminding them of it.

24. So what..
It isn't hurting a thing in my opinion. Sure probably nothing will become of it. Just like all the petition letters Kerry is having us sign and send to *. Big waste of time, because * is involved.

But so what. By doing so Kerry is keeping the pressure on *. making him sweat so to speak. I hope the monkey is shaking in his tree!

20. Humm....
Kerry just wants to open up a congressional hearing. Not just on Rove, but on the White House. There are bigger fish to be had then Karl Rove. Kerry even mentioned that it would be difficult with a Republican congress. He is just trying to keep the pressure on.
