Salon was trying to get a show on one of the big cable networks and tried to work out a deal with FOX. It didn't work out but Roger Ailes was looking for someone to pair with Sean Hannity before he settled on Alan Colmes. He didn't like the Salon guy because he was too tough.
Some of the liberals on the cable television shows remind me of sparring partners for big time boxers who are paid to take a beating. Frankly "liberals" like Alan Colmes, Mort Kondracke, and Juan Williams embarass me.
By the way my favorite liberal pundits are Paul Begalla and James Carville. In the immortal words of the Tom Petty song they don't "back down"
I'll start a list of liberal punching bags for you folks to add to:
she is the irregular "cohost" on O'Reillys radio show, and in no way has ever shown any sign of having any agenda to counter O'Reilly other than the ocasional "Oh Bill...."
I've heard her on several occasions and calling her ineffective would be a compliment.
Howard Stern said a while back(before Lis "debued") that O'Reilly was looking for a "Robin Quivers type" (I.E. laughs at his jokes) Howard though that was really funny
I think that that lady from the nation(Katrina something) is a bad debater. Maybe she's ok at writing or journalism but all I've seen her do in an interview/debate session is spout off catchphrases and bumper sticker slogans
4. Pound for pound, Alan Colmes -- he's on the Faux payroll...
And is nothing but a sock-puppet foil for the bilious asshole who headlines the show.
Let's put it this way -- when's the last time anyone remembers Alan Colmes really laying into a right-wing talking head? Or for that matter, when's the last time anyone read about Colmes' sizzling indictments of the * administration?
Does anyone remember the RW actually being upset with Colmes? Ever?
7. Margaret Carlson - a liberal who attacks Dems because "it's fun."
In a different category altogether is the loathsome Pat Caddell - who in his capacity as an ex-Democrat, lambastes Dems in the strongest terms possible.
