Was Judy Miller on AF1 during Bu$h's 7-13 July 2003 trip to Africa?
Anyone know?

It is an important issue, obviously, and I cannot find an answer and am not sure, beyond google, how to get the answer given that I doubt Ms Miller is taking calls and her lawyer and the NYTimes are not likely to answer the question.

Here's a link to something interesting about Ms Rice and how the where the question originated:

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - How ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists their cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."

1. Check out what she was writing during that period
of the trip to Africa. If she went, she would have been writing about it most likely.

7. I think one of the reasons she did not write an article on the Wilsons ...
.... includes the fact that she had been such a comprehensive propagandist it would have immediately alerted folk to her being central to the revenge/smear/national security crime(s).

Given that, she would certainly have never written about that trip if she were on it, as that would have placed her in the middle of the conspiracy to stomp the Wilsons.

Just speculation, but three planes (2 plus AF1) loads of folk made the trip with Bu$h and it is not exactly subtle that they have refused to release any details as to whom was on the trip except for those so visible as to make it impossible to hide - Powell, Ari, Condi, etc. But, you betcha they'd do everything possible to hide the fact that Judith Miller was along for the ride.

I'm just hoping that one or more members of the WH Press Corps that did make the trip will answer the question. I've sent the question to a bunch of folk (e.g., Olbermann, Conyers, etc) and urge all of you to do the same.

Peace.

2. Don't know but their phones worked fine. Check this.
from: http://talkleft.com/new_archives/011506.html

The Chicago Tribune (March 5, 2004, scroll down) reported on the subpoenas and the fact that the White House has refused to release the names of those on the Africa trip to the media. News reports have put Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Ari Fleisher and Andrew Card on the trip. Also, there were three planes that went on the trip: Air Force One, a second plane with reporters and other White House officials, and a third plane.

3. Thanks. From the NYTimes archive, I've found that from July 2, to ...
... July 19, 2003, Ms Miller didn't publish anything in the NYT. Her article on July 20, 2003 is the truly nauseating apologia for no WMD and, of course, zero accounting for all her propaganda in the previous 18+ months:

FOREIGN DESK | July 19, 2003, Saturday $
AFTER THE WAR: INTELLIGENCE; British Arms Expert at Center of Dispute on Iraq Data Is Found Dead, His Wife Says
By WARREN HOGE with JUDITH MILLER (NYT) 1520 words

NATIONAL DESK | July 2, 2003, Wednesday $
AFTER THE WAR: BIOLOGICAL WARFARE; Subject of Anthrax Inquiry Tied to Anti-Germ Training
This article was reported and written by William J. Broad, David Johnston and Judith Miller. (NYT) 1830 words

I'll keep digging....

Peace.

9. July 9th NY Times - Bush in Africa by Richard Stevenson
July 9, 2003, Wednesday

Bush, in Africa, Promises Aid but Offers No Troops for Liberia

By RICHARD W. STEVENSON (NYT) 1394 words
Late Edition - Final , Section A , Page 8 , Column 1

Correction Appended

ABSTRACT - Pres Bush opens five-country tour of Africa with promise in Senegal to work more closely to help African countries build for future; does not commit to sending US troops to help keep peace in Liberia and repeats demand that Pres Charles Taylor step aside; goes with Senegal Pres Abdoulaye Wade to Goree Island, where slaves were sent on journey across ocean; photo; Bush does not apologize for role of US but condemns slavery in unflinching, religious terms; Sec Colin Powell and security adviser Condoleezza Rice tour island with Bush (M)

Correction: July 10, 2003, Thursday

A subheading yesterday with an article about President Bush's visit to Africa quoted a phrase incorrectly from the president's comment about slavery. As the article noted, the president called it ''one of the greatest crimes of history'' -- not ''of the century.''

6. She was working
under the flip down tray table. You won't find her name on the AF-1 passenger manifest, but if someone had done a head count...
