Why aren't we doing anything about Bush?
Bush stole 2 elections and nothing was done. There were some small protests etc but nothing serious. Is it lack of organization or something?

When election was rigged in Ukraine last year, people took to the streets and ousted the thief. Here, nothing happened. Why are we tolerating lies and don't do anything about it?

8. Americans don't riot like that.
When we riot, we're mostly out for the merchandise we can carry away.

2. Well
Because these people don't know or care what the people think.

5 million people could show up in DC demanding Bush get out of the White House, doesn't mean he's gonna do it

9. He wouldn't get out of the White House, he doesn't care what
we think, he's said as much and his actions against us speak louder then his stupid words do.

12. Hell, 50 million could show up
and it still wouldn't matter. The right would just say those 50 million are a disgruntled minority.

3. Without clear proof that even freepers can't deny, then what
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 12:57 PM by GreenPartyVoter
will our protests do except make them point their fingers at the funny, funny liebruls?

This doesn't mean that I don't believe in the power of protest, but at this point we would be better over protesting this misAdmin's involvement in the Plame Affair as it is clear that the freepers won't be able to escape all the info that has gone in front of the grand jury.

5. There's nothing Freepers can't or won't spin.
Bush could eat a baby on the White House lawn and they'd claim it must've been possessed.

We shouldn't care about what THEY think because they'll never change their minds. We should focus on MAINSTREAM Americans.

7. The question is then, how many mainstream americans are there? How many
can we pull over on this particular issues?

I worry about them drinking the kool-aid because it's the path of least resistance and because they can't deal with the cognitive dossonance. And if they do so, we might as well chalk them up as freeps-by-default.

13. I think a lot more than we realize
Most of them aren't posting on very liberal boards like this one, nor very rightwing boards like FR. And obviously the news only shows the two polar opposite positions, because they like conflict and division.

Michael Moore wrote something in Dude Where's My Country that I always keep in mind. http://www.pamolson.org/ArtAmericansPinkos.htm|Read this excerpt> It's about how most Americans really espouse liberal values -- even though they won't use the word 'liberal'

6. Things could change in a hurry.
All that needs to happen is enough Republican Senators and Representitives to realize the impending disaster that this country is headed for and move accross the aisle.

Everything would change. Democrats start immediate impeachment hearings and the criminals become accountable to the people.

It's up to those Republicans who know that this country cannot hold together much longer with this criminal administration driving us over the cliff.

11. because we have no voice. No one can hear our cries...
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 01:17 PM by rainy
when we march in the streets the press ignores us. When we scream for justice no one believes us. There is not much we can do to be heard or believed without any access to a free press that reaches the multitudes.

14. because we know they're willing and able to slaughter us en masse
Rest assured, if there were a 100 million man march to compel W. to resign it would result in little more than gunning down 80+ million of them.

The only form of mass protest that's not going to get us killed en masse is basically what we're already doing: polls and elections.
