Trigger Happy Cops
The L.A. cops were sorry when they killed the baby. The London cops are sorry because the Brazilian was the wrong guy. Being sorry won't bring people back to life. Despite these pointless homicides, local officials continue to endorse the cops' behavior.

In London, Tony Blair praised the Metropolitan police:

Despite the apparent setback, Blair said Saturday he was pleased with the probe and the work that investigators are doing ...

And in Los Angeles, Chief Bratton extended his sympathy to the cops:

"This has been extraordinarily traumatic for them, wondering if they possibly contributed to the death of a child or maybe caused the death with their own gunfire," Bratton told a news conference.

He said officers followed regulations allowing them to fire "when it reasonably appears necessary" to protect themselves or others from death or serious injury ...

1. Bratton first implied the dad had killed the little girl, himself.
...Or that he may have.
It came out in the autopsy that it was a police bullet.
Even with the limited coverage we get here (L.A.) on MSM TV they showed an amazing amount of forensic ventilation in all the buildings and cars parked near the scene.
Like Jimmy Durante said, "Everybody wants to get in on the act."

2. they aren't really sorry and won't bother pretending much longer
They'll be cremating protesters alive in makeshift deathcamps instead of pepperspraying WTO protesters soon enough. They may even go so far as to make lampshades from our skins and weave clothes from our long hippie hair. BushCo will not rest until every last one of us is in a neoconservative neo-Auschwitz. BushCo's evil has no boundaries.

Abu Ghraib is nothing. It's a desensitization training ground for their neo-Nazi stormtroopers. The target is us. The intention is to torture and kill us because we disagree, because we are now semilegitimate opposition and must be delegitimized, criminalized, humiliated, sodomized, castrated, mutilated, and exterminated with extreme prejudice. They will not rest until all that remains of us are gang rape snuff films of our humiliation and mass graves and piles of ashes.

And they're already practicing this against African-Americans en masse.

This is what we're up against. This is the "neoconservative agenda."

3. I am very much afraid that you are right. Except for the
lamp shades, maybe.

But the rest is not really very far from the target.

Cheers for the vehement agreement!
