3. Rendition
It's about rendition - e.g. the CIA agents who took the Egyptian cleric from Italy recently

About taking people to prisons in torture-friendly ( :puke: ) nations to interrogate them

4. Talking about 2 muslims abducted in Sweden
If I could really type I'd provide a fuller narrative. Speaking about N379P plane going to Egypt from Sweden.

This is something America will finally see on the TV, which is a step in the right direction.

to Jordan, Afghan., Morocco, Iraq, Libya, Gitmo...

And the people they pick up are essentially abducted by CIA -

No proper legal process AT ALL.

16. "Torture Flights" & "Ghost Planes " first authorized by Clinton!
And the repubs say that Bill Clinton didn't do anything to stop terrorism.

I AM disgusted by this!

Did America EVER stand for something?
Were we EVER any different?
Have we EVER aspired to ANY of the loftier goals of true civilization?

Are we JUST LIKE THEM?

Am I just a fool for having EVER believed in the USA?

22. Richard Clarke's book includes what was done during the Clinton
Edited on Sun Jul-24-05 06:59 PM by Garbo 2004
Administration regarding terrorism and it's much more than has been given public attention. Of course, since Bushites would like to claim Bush being asleep at the wheel regarding terrorism was a holdover from the Clinton administration. When in fact they had criticized and scorned the Clinton administration's "obsession" with terrorists.

But yes, "extraordinary renditions" were done under Clinton. Clarke says when he first suggested a "snatch," as he calls it, in '93 WH Counsel Lloyd Cutler demanded a mtg with Clinton and explained that it was a violation of international law but was overridden. (Clarke also notes an instance of a "snatch" during the Reagan Administration.) I find it extremely difficult to believe though that these indeed were the first times ever that the US gov't was directly involved in some manner in such activities.

Of course, under Bush we have our offshore US run gulags and additionally get help with interrogations from "friendly" nations like Syria and other nations we pack people off to.

24. That was (and still is) one of the MOST infuriating Republican Lies!
Bill Clinton and the Democrats Caught, Prosecuted, and imprisoned the terrorists responsible for the first WTC bombing.
Bill Clinton and the Democrats intercepted and prevented a coordinated terrorist attack on the Millennium.
Bill Clinton and the Democrats chased Osama into hiding in Afghanistan, and came closer to eliminating him than George Bush* and the Republicans have.

AND Bill Clinton and the Democrats did the above:

*without KILLING or Wounding a single innocent civilian

*without attacking and removing ANY individual citizen's Constitutional Rights

*without Killing or Wounding a single American soldier

*without bankrupting the Country by throwing away $300Billion Dollars

*without committing ANY War Crimes

*without creating ANY NEW Terrorists

*Without INVADING and occupying ANY 3rd World Countries

*without uniting the WORLD against the USA

*without destroying the credibility of the USA

*without sending the Bill to our children

Bill Clinton and the Democrats showed THE WORLD that our system WORKS!
George bush* and the Republicans have destroyed our system.

18. Shocking report
Actually no it wasn't.

It happened yesterday(even under Clinton, oh my), it's happening today, and it will happen tomorrow. There really isn't anything that can be done to stop it. They can have all the TV reports about it that they want, it won't stop it. Angry letters won't stop it. Electing someone different won't stop it, since it's very dirty business when you get that high on the food chain.

Only humans could think up a world where agencies such as the CIA(or KGB, or all the rest) are required. I doubt it gets much better from here on out.

21. Outsourcing torture has been going on for many years.
The CIA used to stand around while the S. Vietnamese tortured detainees.

Did America EVER stand for something?

(Yes. Capitalism)

Were we EVER any different?

(No if you mean morals, ethics, rule of law.)

Have we EVER aspired to ANY of the loftier goals of true civilization?

(No but there was a grand pretense of it.)

Are we JUST LIKE THEM?

(Yes)

Am I just a fool for having EVER believed in the USA?

(Yes)

23. The CIA guy being interviewed
gave me the creeps. He was actually smiling during some of his responses on the subject of rendition. I can not understand why reports on this practice have not created massive problems for Bush and his goons. I guess the majority finds it acceptable.
