they're trying to keep cheney as distanced as possible from this. he's in big trouble here. Jay Rockefeller keeps saying Cheney's office is behind the Niger story, and has repeated it several times.
He did it again today.

3. Yes.
As it is the beginning of the end for all of them.

Ask yourself this: What is the source of this information?

Answer: It surely comes from within the maladministration. Unca Dick is being tossed overboard. Apparently. Hence, the flailing has begun. More.

Chimpy is toast.

25. When Cheney resigns...
...who'll be the new puppetmaster? I am elated about Cheney being tied to this, but I'm a bit concerned about who takes over if he goes? Everyone knows Shrub isn't _really_ the pResident.

Of course getting rid of them all at the same time would be a dream come true. But I don't know how realistic that is.

<Don't read this to mean I'm in favor of letting Cheney or anyone off the hook>

38. Be careful what you wish for
What happens if Cheney resigns then they install some more popular Repug (is there any such creature) as VP. But say Rudy G.

And if AWOL looks unelectable in '04 because of this, they dump him and retain the WH in Repug hands by running a Rudy G.

19. Hmmm. If Cheney gets tossed, will he not have to turn over the energy
docs? On NOW just last week, Moyers interviewed the Judicial Watch guy (Klayman?) and he said that Cheney would have to hand them over in the next couple of weeks (court order). Maybe they need to prevent that even if it makes bigs waves about the SOTU (which is a mess anyway). Maybe they are letting Cheney go in order to hide something MUCH bigger and more damaging.

But my scenario would be wrong if they still would have to release the energy docs....

Ah, we do live in interesting times.

31. Is this the Board of Directors' plan?
"Maybe they are letting Cheney go in order to hide something MUCH bigger and more damaging.

Might want to take a look at Mike Ruppert's article - posted here recently.

"Just as with Watergate, every time the administration wiggles now, it will only be drawing the noose tighter. And this is what the "Board of Directors" intends. The Bush administration will be controlled as it is being eased out. Business and finance cannot afford any more militarism and this is all that the Neocons know.

The biggest challenge for those who run the country---who select, remove and replace presidents---will be to oust the Bush administration and yet keep the darkest secrets of 9/11 from being publicly acknowledged.

14. Yeah--strong attack on Cheney. And I think this won't go away.
Cheney is so closely linked to PNAC--it's interesting though that they're not going after Rummy too. Maybe later--maybe Rummy can't be linked so closely to the SOTU...

Also an ABC scoop--the forged docs were done by a Niger diplomat and sold (for a couple thousand dollars) to Ital. intelligence, then passed to UK(?I think I heard this, but not sure...) and US. (NOT France.) The trail of those docs needs to be made clearer!

On PBS NewsHour, the new UK ambassador to Iraq (Greenstock) said that the UK never saw the forged docs! Sooo--did the US get them directly from Italy?

Anyway, back to the topic--Cheney was declared by ABC the person in the WH most interested in the docs and in proving nuclear capability in Iraq.

16. Not to throw cold water on everyone but....
Even if Dick Cheney becomes the designated "fall guy" for Dubya's WMD lies, don't expect him to go away. He'll still wield a lot of influence over Chimpy and company, just as I suspect he does now.
Knowing Cheney and Rove, they'll try to turn it into a positive by simply, well, lying. Plus if Chimpster gets re-selected in '04, a different VP could slip quietly into front-runner status (unless he picks his equally stupid brother Jeb-boy).

I don't really expect this story to continue much longer, although I hope it does. I have no faith in the mainstream media.

Let's all hope another President Idiote handler is caught in a different lie. There are plenty of 'em.

20. Well, we've only been hammering away for six weeks
And you're right, the news is bound to get better for this corrupt administration as more information about their lies becomes available, and the body count numbers from Iraq go down.

Oh wait, that would be bad news for the Bushistas, wouldn't it?

Just because Cheney resigns, that doesn't mean he won't still have influence.

Plus, who will they put in instead? If this is all pushed onto Cheney, Shrub will be exonerated and nothing will have changed.

27. I think things are moving faster then they thought
But I don't think the admin is out of tricks yet and, I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. ChimpCo put the story in the spotlight for a reason, and I think that the Dem leadership was also waiting to hype the story for a reason. Maybe it all about who is going to control congress in 04, but perhaps ChimpCo has something up their dirty oil dripping sleeves. Either way this story got legs lets see where it runs.

I want a direct attack: You, sir, are a fucking liar, fucking stupid puppet, OR BOTH!!! I get no pleasure in fall guys. Fall guys are cheap. Cheney could be banned to Camp X-Ray and he and his oil barrons will STILL run this government. I want this lying, office stealing, drunken, coke snorthing, loser at everything in life, little prick to hang. I want it all on his head...as it should be. This isn't a goddamn jobs project to retrain fucking losers. This is the presidency of the US of A and he just showed that he shouldn't be hired to sweep the stables.

32. But Bush is so protected we need to get the people around Bush
before we can get to Bush himself. We're getting closer every day; a few days ago Tenet was taking the blame, now Cheney is being fingered for culpability AND HE'S SECOND IN LINE TO BUSH. And since people think Cheney's the president anyway, this is very significant.

33. Why Cheney Won't Go Quietly Into the Night? Lynn Cheney!
The subpoena power is about to roll over Dick Cheney and the the pointing of fingers is already starting.

Dick Cheney is spoiled goods. Even the Supreme Court, as I have posted here, will not rule in his favor on hiding his Energy Meeting Minutes and Members from the American Public.

And with the threat of subpoena power hanging over the Vice President's office and staff, the Bushies are beginning to sweat like Nixon. They want to dump him fast before the lawsuit gets further along. That's why you see Brent Scrowcroft, of all people, getting out in front of the Dump Cheney Campaign...to control it.

As the old saying goes, when one is being run out of town with a gang of theives, get to the front immediately and pretend that you are leading a "parade".

Only two major problems: Dick and Lynn Cheney. They will not go quietly into the dark. They will not fall on their swords like the C.I.A. Director just did. No. They know too much.

Dick Cheney knows that, as I have posted before, that "the House of Saud holds the mortgage to the House of Bush" and that old man Bush and Osama's family have long, long intimate relations. Cheney despises the Idiot Prince and will not allow himself to be "Agnewed" as Nixon's first Vice President.

Cheney will not step down. Lynn Cheney will make Martha Mitchell look like a choir girl on Easter in comparison when it comes to spilling the proverbial beans in leaked confessions to the public and press.

The only thing that is satisfying is watching all of these priviledged caucasians doing the Texas Two Step.

Whoever first said that "white men can't dance" had not yet witnessed this pair of Bush and Cheney on the ballroom floor.

Could someone request that the DJ turn the music up louder. This is getting too good to miss.
