PARIS (Reuters) - France denied on Monday it had supplied Britain with the intelligence behind London's assertion that Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s Iraq (news - web sites) had attempted to import uranium from Africa. "Contrary to the insinuations that have appeared in the British press, France is not the origin of intelligence published in the British report dated September 24, 2002 and relating to Iraq's nuclear program," the foreign ministry said in a terse statement.

The Financial Times reported on Monday that two foreign governments it said were "thought to be France and Italy" had supplied Britain with information which added to now-discredited domestic intelligence documents.

A diplomat in Vienna told Reuters he also believed Britain's evidence came from French intelligence services.

12. In terms of catch phrases - you are correct

but having the info to show how it works (in this case how the story was manufactured then ended) or to debunk the righties claim that it was FRANCE's FAULT... leaves one armed to answer the questions that follow... "where did you read that?"... "I hadn't heard that"... etc.

Funny thing. Before if I would raise counter information to folks they would just shut down and revert back to their platitudes. Lately a few more inquiries for more information follow. Folks are still in disbelief and need to see/read more - but now they are asking for that information.

This isn't what will win the media campaign.

But it is what will start.. person by person.. turning the tide of blind support. And that is a noble effort of which to be a part.

this admin is very careful not to conjour up images that remind of any other administration... and the idea of a slightly heavier pretty young thing... whispering speech advice or anything else into ole Ws ear isn't an image the rightwingers want to project. I think the Dixie Chicks are safe for the moment.
