attended a funeral today
ronnie d. williams,26 years old and killed in iraq. he went to school with my sons and his parents are friends of mine. so sad, i remember him when he was a little boy. such a polite, sweet kid. this breaks my heart. we have a small little town, and this is our first and hopefully last loss in this stupid, money grubbing, piece of shit war.

1. I am very sorry for your loss.
I wish none of this had ever happened. Each night I go to sleep hoping I will wake up to find it all a dream. Instead, I wake to a new nightmare.

6. I am so sorry ...
My heart aches for every person that the Chimp and his evil cabal have sent to their death (or harm).

I do hope, as well, that this is the last...

8. I'm so sorry
I remember seeing this photo of him before:

They married Dec. 18, 2004, although Ronnie Williams wanted to wait until his tour of duty was up in January 2006. He didn't want Darlene to be a military wife.

(snip)

Williams, a member of the 3rd Squadron of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, was in the process of adopting Darlene Williams' 2-year-old son, Houston, and the couple was planning on buying a house.

9. Rest in peace, Ronnie. Sending love to you and his family.
So very sad, I don't know what to say. I am typing through my tears. We must put a stop to all of this! Every life is so precious, but to put a picture with it of a beautiful family, now destroyed, makes it that much more real.

10. I'm sorry
Anything I say will be a platitude, and I hate platitudes.

I am truly sorry, indeed a tragic loss.

Please, hang in there.

Our small town suffered one fatality in Iraq relatively early on, and that's it at least so far. but, counting Afghanistan too, I personally know four people who are presently over there, or have been over there recently, actually probably more than that but I just don't know that they are there.
