Is showing a clip with the bird being flipped allowed on national TV?
If it is, I think it is indeed a finger. If not, then prolly a pen, thump, pez dispenser, etc...

Yes, it would be legal. It would be a news event. It would have been legal to broadcast Cheney's "Go fuck yourself" comment, too... but no major media group had the balls.....
