john dean says both pres and vice pres. have hired outside attorneys signifying they know more than they are letting on since if they talked to govt attorneys their notes could be subpoenaed...gulp is this old news? says this info comes from the scuttlebutt of attorneys involved.

1. We've known for ages that they took on outside attorneys and refused to go
under oath. However it is nice to remind us because it does help to out the seriousness of it all in perspective for us as we await the indictments. :)

4. And again I make my case
That their oath of office should extend to EVERY conversation that they have that deals with their elected offices. They shouldn't have to be re-sworn.

2. Yes - way way back at least june 2004.
NBC, MSNBC and news services
Updated: 1:08 p.m. ET June 3, 2004
WASHINGTON - President Bush said Thursday he has consulted a private attorney in case he is interviewed or forced to testify about who may have leaked the name of a covert CIA operative to the media last summer.

"I met with an attorney to determine whether or not I need his advice and if I deem I need his advice I’ll probably hire him," the president told reporters.

There was no indication that Bush is a target of the grand jury investigation, but the president added that "I want to know the truth and I’m willing to cooperate myself."

11. Because as Ken Star had done - a Govt attorney can have the
attorney client privilege revoked.

I'm hoping and praying for this.

15. Yep old news.. check out when Bush got himself an attorney
it was right after Ashcroft resigned and the case went over to Fitzgerald... I'll see if I can find a link to that story, but I found that to be pretty telling.
