Damn, He Shot Us The Finger
That ain't right. No president should ever shoot us the FINGER. Who in the hell does he think he is? That's it, he's gotta be done away with.

12. Leno's a Democrat
This came out during the election season; he just keeps it mighty quiet. He finally got fed up with being called a Bush supporter, so he gave an interview to an LA paper where he admitted he "never voted for any Republican."

I think he's just very careful, knowing that his show is the one that tries to appeal to the middle ground of America (whatever the hell that is, I'm not sure it exists).

I thought he might've been a democrat cause in the first season of "West Wing" he was at some event the season had. My mom loves his show and watches him for his jokes and she always has a new Bush joke to tell. ;)
His interview with Bill Maher was pretty good.

It's on my iPod Shuffle all the time.

Bright Eyes has another great protest song, called "Landlocked Blues", on the newish CD I'm Wide Awake It's Morning. Actually there are several political songs on that CD, which he apparently wrote in NYC after the war started.

9. Bush shows the PROVERBIAL finger to the world
with his arrogance and ignorance, but in this particular video he's physically showing the thumbs up to his sycophants.

having gone to art school and drawn COUNTLESS hands in many positions i'm telling you no way is that his thumb. his wrist would have to be bent to the right to have his thumb straight up like that - try it yourself. it might be a pen - but NO WAY is it his thumb.

14. Go frame by frame as he lowers his arm. His hand relaxes and the
thumb moves laterally to the left. It's clearly a thumb as his arm descends.

Once you see it in normal or high resolution in slow motion it definitely is a thumb. He doing a thumbs up with his arms away from the camera and due to pixelation and the angle one (including me for most of the day) can easily interpret it as a middle finger, but it is not.

21. I've got the HD feed of the Leno show from last night on my HD Tivo
The video Leno shows of course is from normal (not low resolution from the .Mov video on the internet) resolution MSNBC feeds, but when seem in slow motion (much to my dismay!) it is his thumb. And verified by my Wife who hoped as I did.

I didn't record it, but I will watch for the rerun.

I suspect if it's that obvious that it's a thumb, Leno knew it too, but showed the clip anyway because it *can* be interpreted as a finger, and it's funny, damnit!

And if it is a pen, since when do you hold one up in the air like that. He wanted it to look like his middle finger, even if doesn't turn out to be an actual finger.

6. Our City Mayor told us to go to hell in a public meeting cuz we were
protesting a water and sewer rate increase, the second one in 8 months. He's a Repuke and his best Repuke friend told him his career wasn't over cuz Dick Cheney said "go fuck yourself" and is still the VP. I hate these bastards.

7. That's the first thing he's done that I took personally.
The press is my representative, charged with presenting information I want to know. To have our "elected" (ha ha) twerp of a president in effect give ME the finger really brought home just how hateful and horrid this little man is.

22. I don't know why many on DU are so outraged.
Haven't we always known that this cretin has nothing but contempt for the American people and press. Whether it was a finger, a thumb, a pen, or something completely different, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the man despises anything related to generosity, acceptance, or equality.
