Niger...do any DUer's know a reputable charity to help this desperate
situation? It's really a sad, sad, day when "news" programs spend 45 minutes out of an hour talking about a missing "American Beauty" when this tragedy plays out without a word.

Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated!

1. Doctors Without Borders
There's something right on their home page today about Niger. When you donate to DWB, I think there's a way you can specify what effort you want your donation to support. I couldn't find it but you might contact them about it. I was able to do that for their work with the tsunami victims.

2. There are many charities that attempt to aid the defenseless,
but you ask a hard question, I can't personaly give you any that I find to be trully reputable, though many do find a way to give a fair amount of aid to Africa...

If you are trully interested in helping in some way, you can contact your local congressman to lead you in the right direction, of course insure he is not a far right winged conservative, you just might end up aiding in their own personal coffers being filled to the brim...

Google Niger, the hits will astound you....

4. I donated to three different organizations today for Niger crisis...
1. Doctors Without Borders

2. Save The Children

3. World Food Program

I got an email from Doctors Without Borders, saying they had enough money for the Niger crisis, and asking me if they could put my money towards another country that also nees help.
