My projected scenario for troop pullout

I've been hearing rumors that Bush will start pulling troops out of Iraq next year just before the 2006 elections. He's been getting pressure from Republican Congressmen because their constituents are getting tired of the war. So to help the Republicans win their seats, Bush will withdraw the troops from Iraq and claim a magnificent victory. He deposed a brutal dictator and got us out (there will be a civil war after we leave, but Americans won't care).

OK, that leaves 2008. Bush doesn't know what to do unless he's at war. I'm guessing that sometime in 2008, after the military has had a chance to regroup, we will have another terrorist attack, and Bush will invade Iran or Syria (whichever looks easiest). This will mean that the Republicans can start screaming, "terror, terror, terror, don't change course in the middle of a war!" They'll play on the people's fear again, and go for another presidency in '08.

I fear they've discovered a sick formula.
