Corporate America... When the chips are down, profits are up.
A post on record profits for many oil companies drives it home: These entities could give a shit about the country that allowed them to thrive.

Just like the railroad barons at the birth of the twentieth century, these corporations have established a choke hold on the populace and will not let go until someone bigger makes them.

Unfortunately, there's no one bigger anymore.

They live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. They have won the game and the only thing left to do for the rest of us players is to start a new game. Question is, what is that game going to be.

Do you want to play a game?

1. Indeed I do!
I have been witching incredulously as one after another, the corporate fat cats announce profits "exceeding expectations". We are sorely in need of a war profiteering investigation panel, ala the Truman Commission.

I am tired of corproatists running our lives! People are supposed to work to live, not the other way around. Let's play!

2. Take the bus,
and quit driving around so much! Turn off the lights and A/C when you don't need them, and stop buying so much cheap plastic crap that you don't need anyway and do it LOUDLY!

Their game is profits and if they don't get them, maybe we can start playing a different game.

Of course, Americans are their enablers and don't give a damn about the TRUE cost of the items we buy...

4. I have a friend whose husband was just laid off.
RIF, and he had the least seniority after three years of wonderful work, stunning performance appraisals. Engineering tech -type of person.
