Will Judy Miller's career be advanced or hindered by her jail time?
Will she have any credibility when she gets out? Or is her career over? Or will her "friends" build her up as some sort of hero and she will write a book about her experiences and she will be known far and wide as a martyr for the cause? What do you think?

1. Hmm
I dunno, does jail time limit your career as a stenographer?

3. It won't help, not if indictments come out
and she appears to be protecting a criminal.

Of course the NYT will promote her as a martyr, but recently, the NYT has lost tons of credibility.
They are just as embedded as anyone else. Their White House reporting is pathetic and their ability to research beyond a press release seems to have dissapperated along with Harry's broomstick.

...that this can't help Darth Judy if Plamegate galvanizes into a clear-cut criminal case.

She'll look as if she's on the side of the criminals.

She'll look just as traitorous and unAmerican as they do.

I can't believe that she hasn't thought this through.

When indictments come out--and America comes to understand that thuggery and crimes that have happened--they will not look kindly on the reporter who has kept this critical information from the public. She's obviously protecting someone important.

This scandal isn't just about Plame. The information that has leaked about Fitz's investigation indicates that he'll be demonstrating that this administration lied to get us into Iraq.

Judy will NEVER recover--and will go down in history as the traitorous reporter with a bad hair cut--if she continues her silence as the crimes are revealed.

She's a total idiot.

4. Think It Will Depend On The Outcome Of This Case
If her involvement is proven to complicit with the leakers or, if she undergoes a trial for criminal contempt, I don't think she'll fare too well. Even now her support is dwindling. There are no "Free Judy" protests occurring, very little is being written in her favor and her husband has gone off on a cruise. My own personal feeling is that when this admin is gone, so is her career.

she'll be employed after this is over (hopefully after a long jail term), but she'll never be viewed as a top reporter anymore

8. What will ultimately kill her career
is the increased exposure of her cheerleading for war. She swallowed all the Bushian lies, without any introspection or investigation, and spread the lies as facts.
Most people are clueless about Miller. The right thinks she's some kind of liberal journalist because she works for the NYT. Many on the left are supportive, if not of her, of wanting to preserve the protections of undisclosed sources and of a free press.
But Miller got all creamy for the Iraq invasion and shamelessly whored for war.
As Americans continue to learn of the truth behind this administration's rush to war, Miller will be exposed. She'll end up at one of the rightwing propaganda mills, dye her hair blonde, and try to shove the other clones aside for her few minutes of commentary.
Maybe she'll learn some new skills in prison.

9. Apparently, Bushie has turned on her
with all of the Judy bashing coming out. I see the hand of Rove pushing Judy out in front.

10. You mean her career as a neoconservative tool?
She'll do just fine.

She'll write a book published by Regenery, do the rounds of the right-wing talk circuit. It will become a "best seller" (wink) on the NYT list, propped up by bulk sales.

Then she'll run for Congress, given a plum red district and plenty of Puke Party backing.

After serving two terms, she'll get her own radio talk show and a syndicated column. Hello, Ollie. She'll be a regular on all the pundit freak shows.

She'll go to all the "right" parties in D.C. and New York with the likes of Bill Safire, Andrew Sullivan, the PNAC crowd, Alberto Gonzalez, Ann Coulter, Ari Fleischer, Lynne Cheney, Howard Kurtz, Elliot Abrams, Condie, etc.

She will be invited to join the boards of Halliburton, General Electric, and Texaco.

When the next Pub administration gets into power in 20 years, she'll be appointed assistant secretary of state for Middle Eastern affairs.

And all this while, she'll be pulling her CIA salary.

She'll be just fine.

11. Spot on.
Judith Miller is a neo-spook.

She's an enemy of America.
