12. this is so ludicrous it's not even funny
there are many healthy sperm released at the time of fertilization, once a fertilized egg attaches itself to the womb, the mother's body goes into defense mode to attack all others, there is no "sanctity of life"
in the fertilization process.

21. Ye Olde Testament
Oh boy. no wonder American women are in trouble in the very near future. They allow their bodies to kill off precious sperm.

There are some pretty funky and crazy chapters and verses in Ye Olde Testament which describes what happens when your sperm hits the ground. Yet, rape of nonbelievers is fine, but your wife has to carry around her bloody marriage bedsheets around for life to prove her original virginity. (or stone her to death)

Now, with the neo con-based concerted attacks on women's reproductive rights in 17 states, including birth control dispensing, and even the right to hear real medical advice, I can only imagine what our future holds.

we really are no longer in the 13th century, people really do want
the best medical care for their families and you can't base
medical care on ignorance.

6. Do they want to BAN these couples from throwing them
in the GARBAGE if they so choose? Would these people FORCE the women to implant them or FORCE them to give them up for "adoption" to those LOONY Snowflake people, knowing full well the majority of them WILL DIE ANYWAY? Hello? Welcome to Fertility 101. Not EVERY blastocyst successfully (naturally or with IVF) implants and results in an "adorable, cute, baby."

These people are SO OBSESSED with BABIES. Do they give a DAMN about toddlers, children, teenagers, or ADULTS? NO.

16. They are blastocysts, anyway.
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 05:10 PM by Bouncy Ball
A blastocyst is an EIGHT-CELLED ball. The early stages of being a blastocyst, anyway. And that's what most of these frozen blastocysts are, eight cells.

You can see six of the cells in this blastocyst:

Also, many of the frozen ones are of medium to low quality and probably would not form to the point of being born even if transferred to a uterus. Couples who do IVF have the most high-quality blastocysts transferred and the medium to low quality ones are not used, but frozen (or, in rare cases, they don't even bother to freeze the most low quality ones).

19. IMPOSING GENDER ROLES ON IT ALREADY????
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 05:13 PM by Bouncy Ball

I say Rebecca! Or maybe EVE!!!

On a more serious note, where these people are wrong is this: an eight-celled blastocyst has the POTENTIAL to become a human life. But it's quite a stretch to look at that picture and call that a human being. It's not. It has the potential, given a hospitable and compatible uterine atmosphere and given that the genetic encoding is compatible with continued development, given that a million other things don't go wrong, etc etc.

But what they are freaking out about are eight-celled balls.

28. The Willingly Dellusional Want To Believe They Care About Life...
but their actions say otherwise... they talk as if they care but they really don't. Just look at the man they voted for. A murderous President that starts a war of choice yet strips those who should have the right to choose to protect their own well being.

These people make me sick! They force others to follower their definition of "Life" and yet deny all others the same respect.

Kid die daily from starvation and poverty yet they vote for a man that could give two shits. This man they voted for is responsible for over 100,000 plus lives in Iraq, not to mention the deaths here of those that depended upon social programs he cut funding for.

A major FUCK YOU to those lurking here. You are evil! You understand that?

29. Delusional is right.
They seem to have convinced themselves that their concern for the unborn makes them righteous and holy.

Their lack of concern for the already born makes them hypocrites and makes me crazy.

And I really don't want people who don't believe in science making decisions on scientific issues, or health issues...or any other damned thing beyond what they're gonna have for dinner, for that matter.

33. I 've Talked These People...
they believe in whatever they have been told by religious leaders in their communities. It's like a brainwashing cult... but worse. They willingly accept their version of reality because it's convenient for them. I don't mind convenience, but their convenience is extremely dangerous for women. I am a male.... go figure.

Maybe I care about a women's right to chose because it's her body and I just happen to respect my own mother's decisions. I think they are full of shit.

I don't buy what they say they believe. It's a goodamn excuse to oppress others.
