Remember all those "Work From Home" signs that you used to see
uglying up all the telephone poles in your town?

Notice that they're not there anymore? Your town looks better without them, doesn't it?

Those signs were all put up by Herbalife distributors, and a citizens' action group known as CAUSS was responsible for beating the tar out of Herbalife (public-relations-wise) until Herbalife banned the use of signs by their "distributors."

Now, we're seeing a new plague of "Affordable Health Insurance" signs, put up by members of NASE (a semi-worthless "association" for self-employed people), who get the chance to be unlicensed insurance brokers and peddle semi-worthless health insurance for Mega Life Insurance. They are encouraged to promote their semi-worthless insurance by uglying up YOUR cities and towns with spam signs on telephone poles and stuck into the ground at intersections.

We're also getting an invasion of "We buy Houses" signs from people who are utter parasitical scumbags hoping to cheat homeowners who have financial difficulties out of their houses.

You don't have to put up with this visual blight. It is absolutely legal in EVERY state for you to rip down these signs, which are absolutely ILLEGAL in every state.

So--next time you're out for a walk or a drive, and you see this "street spam," do a little bit of community service by helping keep your town clean, and get a bit of exercise and the satisfaction of knowing that you've cost these scam artists the six bucks or so it costs them to put up their spam signs.

It's YOUR town. You do NOT have to let them make it ugly with their illegal signs.

5. Last couple of times I've been in Brooklyn, I've seen those
signs all over the place (Greenpoint area).

That's what they call a "target-rich environment."

Go get 'em! Take back your city.

6. That's really bad. Yeesh. But it's what happens when the
big-time spammers get away with theri spamming; the local yokels follow suit.

Go rip those signs down, sould you? It's YOUR city; don't let the spammers ruin it.

7. Work at Home is a Scam.........

I talked to an expert on work at home offers, she said they are all scams. She told me no work at home offer is good unless you already work for a company where you can do your job from home.

She said no company would pay you to do any work at home unless you already work for them in some way.

8. Why not just glue some IMPEACH BUSH signs over them?
I mean, if they're going to be torn down anyway....it wouldn't really be vandalism would it?

17. Hey, that would make things even easier for us!
If you slap an Impeach Bush sticker on the signs, the Republicans will take them down, then WE don't have to!

Go get 'em.

11. Make a telephone pole ugly? Who would know?
My vet said a certain medicine might make my cat "lethargic"

Huh.

So if she sleeps 23 hours a day - instead of only 22 - I should notice?

12. Herbalife . . . Melaleuca . . . NuSkin . . . Mary Kay . . .
and the grandaddy of them all, Amway . . . multi-level marketing (MLM) -- or network marketing, if you prefer -- is nothing but a huge pyramid scheme in which a very few "leaders" get fabulously wealthy through the work of others while the rank and file make pennies or, in most cases, actually lose money . . .

my sister tried to involve me with Melaleuca years ago, and for awhile I was intrigued by the concept and actually liked a lot of the products . . . upon further investigation, I learned the facts about how these schemes operate, how expensive the products actually were compared to what you can purchase elsewhere, and decided not to pursue it . . . the come-ons are slick and seductive, though, and I can see how a lot of people can get sucked in by promises of unlimited riches . . . but the reality is that it's all just one big, elaborate scam . . .

Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 01:33 AM by joanne
I can tell you that they definitely arent all scams. :)

And pyramid schemes are illegal.

However, I definitely agree that advertising on telephone poles isnt the way to go. :D :D

18. I wasn't indicting all "home-based busniesses." There are some
that are legitimate.

But it does tell you something about these particular ones, that they feel they should be entitled to use public property for free advertising, even though it's illegal.

A good business, such as yours, will make it without using illegal advertising at public expense. Yes?

15. In my neighborhood, the little jerks put flyers on our cars every month
The same "work from home get rich quick" crapola.

They do it in the dark of night, apparently. Come the break of dawn, viola! Everyone's car in the parking lot and sidestreets is plastered with neon-colored flyers.

I'd like to catch the lil' buggers.

19. The scam that makes me wonder how dumb people really are
is the "work at home" scam that is advertised on cable TV that promises you a desktop computer for ONLY $35 a week for a year. Let's see, that $1820 dollars, which would buy you THREE computers down at your friendly local computer store.
