Doctors pronounce Bush 'fit for duty'
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/30/bush.physical.ap/index.html

President Bush was pronounced "fit for duty" after an annual checkup Saturday that showed that the 59-year-old commander in chief, an avid mountain bike rider, has lost 8 pounds since his last physical exam in December.

<snip>

Bush's overall cholesterol count remains at a healthy level, despite a slight rise to 178 from 170 seven months ago. There was a small drop in his high-density lipoprotein (HDL) count, or "good" cholesterol, and a small rise in his low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or "bad" cholesterol. Still, both levels were within healthy ranges.

<snip>

The president's medical profile shows a low to very low risk of coronary artery disease. His resting pulse rate dropped to 47 beats per minute from 52. Well-trained athletes typically have resting pulse rate of between 40 and 60 beats per minute.

Doctors made Bush run on a treadmill for more than 26 minutes as part of a test that evaluates the performance of his heart. His heart beat reached 183 beats per minute; no signs or symptoms of cardiovascular problems were noted.

For a moment I got excited. I thought they pronounced him fit for military duty.

5. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Great Idea.
We know he likes to play "soldier"...

If he's so f*cking fit then maybe he should forego that 4 week vacation and get his ass over to the Middle East and support the troops!

Peace.

8. 8 pounds is within excretion variability
(i.e. water weight and defecation)

Not a terribly pleasant thought, but weight really is that variable.

7. I always wanted.....
to see him riding in the first tank that entered Iraq, (since he thought it was such a good idea), and see if HE looked any more manly than the GOPers thought Dukakis did in 1988!!

Besides, he was "fit" for duty before, and hid out in another State...

that are over there. i'll tell you when he'd get his coronary, when he's put on that troop plane to Iraq. he'd drop that chickenhawk swagger and bluster and start to whine and whimper like the baby he is.

10. Physically fit is one thing, but fit in the way it really matters is
another subject altogether.

There's a whole other exam for that one. And I am absolutely certain that he'd never pass that one.

13. Bush lost 8 pounds - where did they all go?
Those 8 pounds are probably sitting in Rush Limbaugh's fat ass.

16. Presidents (even non-Presidents) always get a clean bill of health.
They report the good stuff but withhold the bad stuff. Like his alcoholic addiction. Nothing on the liver?

17. Must be nice...
to have full medical exams on someone else's dime. I remember Kerry coming to our little town, working the crowd with...

"Who pays for Bush's Health care?"...the crowd shouted "We do!"...Kerry went on..."Who pays for Cheney's health care?"...the crowd shouted "We do!"...Kerry wrapped it up with "Wouldn't you like to have the same health care that you pay for us to recieve?"...or something to that effect.

Anyway, the point was well taken and well received by the crowd. They went ballistic! Why don't we get what they get? It is WE who are paying!

18. no doubt the doctors were told they had to issue a healthy report . . .
it is, after all, a matter of grave national security . . .

that's how they'll justify it when it becomes known that they lied, anyhow . . .
