It's embarrassing. I remember when this show was one of the greatest ever . Tonight they are doing a segment of PLUS size woman and their difficulty in finding clothing!

It's especially difficult for plus-sized women to get clothes off the rack, given the number of Republicans who are closet transvestites.

I'm not that bad myself and can usually find good stuff at certain clothes places but there are some places that have really great clothes but not in my size. Of course now I'm starting to do some exercising but I also have a very slow metabalism and thyroids. I did lose a lot of weight in 2001 but then from nowhere started gaining and then started having menstural problems and found out it was all thyroids. So now I'm taking medicine for that and also medicine to help my metabolisim and doing some working out. It is hard to be a medium sized girl in today's world where so much is focused on being skinny. For example when Jessica Simpson had out her second album her label wanted her to go on the Atkins diet! Her mother didn't like that since she was already skinny and losing weight takes a while too depending on your matabolisim and how much time you have to work out. You don't, and shouldn't, be lazy of course but you shouldn't have to be a size three to enjoy wearing clothes.

Gone are the days of giants in broadcast news, Murrow, Cronkite, Brinkley, Mike Wallace, and Ted Koppel.

All that we have left is a chain smoking comedian from New Jersey who is our lone beacon of light in a sea of darkness.

must obviously not understand what it's like living in a size three world and being a over size ten. :mad: Try living in someone else's shoes where it's not easy to find clothes you love in your size. Until you've walked in the shoes shut up and fuck off!

I just crossed the barrier from "fatass" to "super fatass." I'm now up to 300 pounds, and, for the first time in my life, have problems finding pants that fit (most stores only stock most styles in sizes up to 42 or 44).

Of course, I'm a guy, which means I can joke about my weight, and I generally don't care about what clothes I wear, so long as they don't cut off my circulation.

I do think women's clothing retailers in this country are missing the boat, and a lot of profit. Perhaps when Lane Bryant is the number one women's clothier they will finally get it.

After the Nov. election, I ate huge amounts for a solid month - cakes, pies, doughnuts -- trying to eat myself out of the post-election depression.

I gained a lot of weight, and I'm short. It's very hard to find clothing. I was at the mall a few days ago, and I wondered where most of the women were getting their clothing. Most regular folks walking around won't fit into the skinny tops that are sold in regular clothing stores. Even an x-large is quite small. It's the big dirty secret of the fashion industry. It's also stupid. They'd sell a lot more clothing if it was geared toward size 12 and over.

is that 'sizes' are not universal. But, rather, based upon the standard found in the producing country. A 'size 12' manufactured in China or Taiwan is the equivalent of a 'size 10' manufactured in the US or Europe.

When I buy clothing, the first thing I look for is origin of manufacture, then size. I'm not wasting my time trying on clothing which I know will not fit.

Checking country of origin also dictates whether an X-LG will fit or whether it's necessary to just look for an XX-LG, or just give up.

I find myself doing that. I mostly shop at the same place (Target) because I know exactly what to look for according to size. There I shop one size bigger then my normal size. :shrug: At Kohl's it depends. I got one shirt that was my normal size and the material was weird and a little too tight. I didn't have to take it back though since it fit my mother and she's petite and smaller then I am.

My daughter who often buys size 0, found that my 1970 vintage 4s and 6s were pretty likely to fit. More expensive clothes tend to be more generously sized.

Someone else might benefit from it. Nightline can do whatever they want and they might have a good legit reason for covering. Also with the clothes some places you go it depends. Like when I shop at "Target" I have to get a size bigger then what I normally wear. At Kohl's it depends on the company. I found some really cute stuff there in my size but they're pricy so I only go there so often.

Less than a size 3 and there is NOTHING out there....nothing.

Unless I want to look like a 10 year old.

get rid of it - they are going by the "focus group" theory - that American's can only handle news in 10 minutes segments.

they might as well discuss large womens' clothing -- they aren't going to give us anything else of substance. Nightline is history IMO.

Is this all they have to offer? I mostly watch Jon Stewart, David Letterman and Jay Leno. At least they bring out a lot of important topics and do it with humor. The media has slipped so far since they have had to cover the president's hindend 24/7.:puke:

I haven't even seen a size three since I was about13 or 14 years old. It's dreary to me because there seems to be no way to rid myself of cellulite. It's expensive and doesn't seem to be effective for most people. I'm 72 years old, wear a size 18 pants, and not proud of myself.
I've had a stroke, colin pre-cancer surgery, lost most of the sight in one eye, and have spinal stenosis; so I'm always looking for medical help.
By the way, I do switch channels every now and again. I may be over weight, over the hill, and have some medical problems, but I'm not exactly senile. I usually think about something for a while before forming an opinion.

But cant go without giving a big shoutout to Ted Koppel.Over the 20 plus years he raised issues,covered stories that you rarely saw anyone else do in the MSM with the exception of 60 minutes.
