9. Recommending, kicking, admiring, and supporting
Alex Ryabov is a brave young man for many reasons. The wingnuts will not take kindly to this. The good news is, Ryabov is from Brooklyn. He'll be safer there than in some wingnutty area.

16. How do you ask a man to be the last person to die for a mistake?
Our prayers go out to the women and men and children who have died for this lie. It was no mistake. It was deliberate evil.

This reads like she is a Republican :) Probably an offense to her. Do they mean "R" as in "Right'?

20. Here's a nice write up by Reuters linking it to bad polls
By REUTERS
Published: August 6, 2005

Filed at 5:21 p.m. ET

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - About 70 anti-war protesters marched toward President Bush's ranch on Saturday shouting ``bring the troops home now'' from Iraq, led by a California mother whose son was killed in combat in Baghdad.

The protest coincided with release of a Newsweek poll that said 61 percent of Americans disapproved of the way Bush was handling the situation in Iraq. The poll came after more than two dozen Americans were killed in the past week in Iraq.

Newsweek said it was Bush's lowest rating on Iraq and the first time it had dropped below 40 percent in its poll. Pentagon officials have said maintaining public support for the war is key to the troops' morale.

Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 05:36 PM by zidzi
in Crawford as we had in NYC on Feb 15, 2003..but it's a whole different state and city..I was happy the protest was in NYC so more people could just come out their door.

We had tons of People but the nyt itself purposely underreported by the THOUSANDS! Wonder why? So they could prop up the likes of judy miller channeling chalabi?

Edit~ Thanks for the pics..they're Priceless!

33. Crawford protest just on 'Today' Sunday 8 AM
At the beginning of the show. A short segment. It was OK. The camera angles for Sheehan only showed 2-3 protesters in any shot, so that seemed a little slighted, but on the other hand, Bush's lame words rang very hollow. For the first time, I saw Bush doing double-jaw jerks between pauses. His twitching is getting worse.

Then, after the segment, I think they went right to a fight of football players, then went to Lester Holt and the other lady, and they made joking comments about the fight. It seemed odd, and I wondered if they stuck the fight segment in so that the hosts wouldn't have to comment on the Crawford protest.

At least it was on the TV.
