BUZZFLASH REPORT Wednesday January 31, 2001 at 10:51:38 AM

TOM CHANGED HIS HOME PAGE, BUT WE KEPT A COPY OF THE TEXT FOR SAFEKEEPING

Read it and it will make you sick !!
Just think.....this is the "leader" of the Democrats in the Senate.

No wonder bush gets everyone/everything he wants.
Daschle is NOT a real Democrat. He is an ass-kisser to the Republicans.

-------------------------------------------

copied from Senator's Daschle's Senate webpage -

What a historic weekend for all of America. On Saturday I had the privilege of participating in the swearing in of Americas 43rd President, George W. Bush. While President Bush and I have some honest philosophical differences that wont prevent us from working closely together as the 107th Congress opens its session this week. I am looking forward to it. Working together in a true bipartisan spirit we can accomplish great things for South Dakota and all of America. In keeping with that bipartisan spirit I look forward to my first meeting with President Bush at the White House this Wednesday. This will be the first of many meetings between the President and me as we hope to keep our lines of communication open (just as I do with Republican Leader Trent Lottwe even have a direct line to each others offices).

Shortly after the swearing in Senator Lott and I called the 107th Congress to order so that we could confirm the first seven of President Bushs cabinet choices. This was easy work as President Bush has done an excellent job with his cabinet selections. On Saturday, we confirmed Secretaries Colin Powell (Secretary of State), Paul ONeill (Treasury), Ann Veneman (Agriculture), Don Evans (Commerce), Rod Paige (Education), Spence Abraham (Energy), and Don Rumsfeld (Defense). I met with almost all of these nominees in the previous weeks and I am enthusiastic about the chance to work closely with them.

I am also very pleased that South Dakotas own Rosebud Elementary School Drum Band graced the Inaugural Parade with their presence on Saturday. From the reports I heard they were really an impressive group. My Congratulations to Linda Bordeaux and the entire band.

Please take the time to explore my views on the issues and take advantage of the other features on my web page. Thanks for visiting and come back again soon.

Tom Daschle

1. Whatever
These were like the 1st and 2nd months of Bush's presidency. Since after 9/11, Daschle has been a huge critic of Bush, I'm willing to cut him some slack.

6. yea.... whatever. Its 'just' a stolen election. Democracy was getting old.
Stolen elections dont matter to DEMs in Congress.

Only the voters care.

4. Daschle is not a great leader, but he has had some success recently
I give him credit for the filibusters against extremist judges and he has stood up against Alaskan drilling.

Overall, however, his leadership since 9/11 has been pathetic.

11. Aren't you training your weapons of WMD on the wrong side?
That is, if you really mean what your screen name says?

Daschle strikes me as a good and decent person, which is more than I can say about many of the possible human targets in the Bush Admin.

12. I wonder about Daschle
Could that Anthrax sent to him have changed him? Threats and
blackmail work wonders. He really does not lead the Senate
Democrats. Byrd, Kennedy, they challange, Daschle has been much
too complacent. Maybe he has reasons, if so, he should step down
and let someone else head the democratic senate. I have often
wondered how someone from such a strong Republican State cannot
have mixed alliances - he has to please his constituents or he
loses office and believe me, South Dakota is a very Republican
State.
