64. No. Only the auction winner can leave feedback for him.
Anyone can write to him and complain while the auction is active. But it looks like the auction has been pulled, now.

41. Did just that...here's my response
It's hardly patriotic to say "...what she is doing only lowers moral for all the troops as a whole, and boarders on criminal...".

What happened to free speech or freedom of expression?

While I agree you have the right to do and say what you are doing as well as Cindy has the right to do what she is doing, I think you should really think about your underhanded behavior.

How is Cindy's behavior criminal? Since when is protest criminal?

You obviously don't understand the principals this country was founded on. Your ignorance is a sad reflection of your unwillingness to truly understand and come to terms with what "freedom" really means.

"exactly, what happend to free speach? you hypocrit!"

I'm the hypocrite? I already told the seller that I agree that they have the right to do and say what they want.

How does that make me a hypocrite?

Amazing what the blind and increasingly ignorant BushCo masses can believe.

(It's obvious this person has spelling problems, makes me think that they might have other sorts of problems too. So sad.)

Defending the right to free speech should never be confused with defending the speaker, or the speech, itself. That's why the ACLU rightfully "defends" the Klan by fighting to protect the 1st.

I vote

16. My thought, too -
- is that it is a free speech issue. The first auction didn't really have a product to auction. This one is a bit different.

This person has come up with something tangible to auction. eBay auctions other similar political items and as long as it doesn't violate the eBay terms of service I doubt it will be removed.

You are bidding on a yellow 8 inch magnet that was originally said "Support Our Troops" but had been modified with permanenet paint to state "Arrest Cindy Sheehan" For those of you who don't know Cindy Sheehan just type her name in Google. Or, just beleive me and suppor the fact that this women should be arrested. I am deeply sorry that she has lost her son, but what she is doing only lowers moral for all the troops as a whole, and boarders on criminal. This style of protest originally came about during the Vietnam War, and was just as unacceptable as it is today. Where was these protests when her son signed up for the military? The last I looked there is no draft, and this lady needs to be stopped!

This eBayer needs to be arrested by the grammar police.

55. Well, there are a couple of different reasons
eBay itself has a long history of shutting down opportunists/profiteers. They didn't allow people to take advantage of the shuttle disaster, WTC memorabilia, London bombings, certain celebrity deaths and arrests, and so on. This sort of political speechifying has in the past been shot down. They rely on the community itself to police offensive or objectionable listings. If enough people complain, chances are they'll shut it down. They don't particularly like controversy.

I can't say I agree (I find it more idiotic than offensive, and I generally think it is a good thing when freepers make themselves look stupid) and I kind of think it is a shame that ebay shut it down (would they allow an "impeach bush" ribbon?). But, congratulations on a mission accomplished, anyway.

69. He is gone- and i'm proud of e-bay, though
there may be a bit of 'sound reasoning' on thier part.

Paypal and e-bay are related, and isn't Paypal one of the donation sites for Cindy-?

They have the right to refuse any and all offending merchandise- there is no 'law' that gives anyone the 'right' to sell on e-bay.

Just as any 'merchant' can ask a customer to leave their store-

Personally i'm glad e-bay shut this guy up- even if it did go against the principal of free speech. Fining Howard Stern for saying fuck on the air flies in the face of 'free speech' and is enforced not by an 'individual' but by the GOVERNMENT-

ME: "While you're certainly entitled to your opinion, I think you're way off base. Ms. Sheehan is doing exactly what the founding fathers intended her to do - exercise her right to protest when she feels her government is no longer representing the greater interests of the people.

To trivialize it as you have is childish."

HIM: "Thank you. I appreciate you comments. She has a right to voice her oppionion and critize the president and the war, I feel that someone critizing her is not out of question. I'm just a patriot."

ME: "While I still find your auction distasteful, I do have to applaud you for responding to my message.

One thing to consider..."nationalism" is blind support of one's country - "patriotism" is a love of one's country which sometimes requires one to point out the blemishes and mistakes in order to make it a better place...at least that's my definition.

This isn't an observation of you, personally. I just know of quite a few people who believe that "patriotism" is a function of simply believing what our government tells us to believe.

Again, I do appreciate your response."

She has a right to voice her oppionion and critize the president and the war

but then the person wrote in the original description:

"Arrest Cindy Sheehan"

Arrest her for what, exactly, since by the freeptard's own statement she has the right to voice her opinion?

I'll almost always give a person the benefit of the doubt. If this E-Bayer is open to differing views, a reasonable approach is the only way to get the message across. Screaming at him will only help him justify his (erroneous) opinion of REAL patriots (those who feel morally obligated to question authority when that authority is not acting in the interest of the people).

59. W00T!
Like I wrote above, eBay shies away from controversy. If enough people complain, they'll make it go away. :)

67. Here was his reply to me
"I fought in the first Gulf war my friend. I'm not trying to support our troops, I just could'nt think of a better media to stop this broad."

Why does he need to stop her?

Now a dead soldier's mother is a "broad?"

Asshat.

70. this isn't
the 'first Gulf war' (not that that one was honestly any more legitimate)
But, it was a war waged by a 'properly' elected president.
And a war that had a begining, and an end-

If this guy can't think of a better media, guess he's like the bush that doesn't read newspapers.

so sadly ignorant and shallow.
