It is that time again. Want to hear from our troops (though I assume some of us will be at house parties tonight)

Lets not give up hope. Let's redouble our efforts. There will be bad news in polls showing a Clark surge based on his entrance into the race (such as the one showing Clark now ahead in California), but we have committed supporters, top-notch national organization, effective and hardworking grass roots volunteers, more money raised than anyone and especially a great candidate--we can and will go the distance. We have a real race now though and the news won't always be good but we just got to keep our faith and keep our eye on the prize. Remember where Howard Dean was in January of this year and where he is now--one of the front runners for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.

and, no, I haven't drunk kool-aid, I'm not part of a cult, I see him, flaws and all, don't agree with him 100%, cringe when he doesn't think before he talks, and I still think he's not only the best candidate, but the most electable as well.

Clark got a "new guy" bump in the polls, but the info coming out about Clark being a republican like 20 minutes ago, he's turing into the beer goggles candidate. People got all excited about the hype, but as we start to notice that things don't add up, that hype alone won't be enough carry him.

He is the first politician I have ever heard who has a reasonable, rational, realistic approach to the health care crisis in this country. And for that alone he has my undying loyalty.

I am planning to go to my first meetup on Wednesday night. Could someone who has been to one tell me what they are like? It appears from the pictures that the venue I'm planning on attending was quite crowded last month.

Went to the house party tonight and made my third donation in the past three months. We had 15 very committed people at the house party here in Dubuque, Iowa. The general consensus is we will bust our butts for the good Doctor and do our best to make him the candidate in 2004, with the understanding that if something goes wrong we will then do our best for whoever beats him.

And Americans for Dean. We have the power!

What an amazing evening! Before I put away the leftovers from my house party, I absolutely have to post this to the blog.

I expected 5 people, but more than 20 showed up, with nearly everybody donating at least $25 to the cause. The most exciting thing about my house party, though, is the story of 6 people who couldn't donate because they're not American citizens. They're French political science majors in a year-long foreign exchange program at Northwestern University.

The grad student who brought them asked me this afternoon if they could attend and of course I said yes! These wonderful kids were absolutely swept away first by what the Gov said on the conference call and then by the video of his announcement speech, which I played for them after the call. One girl said that she wished she could vote for him! The others asked if there was any way they could participate in both the campaign and the process. Well, since I happen to be a board member of the Democratic Party of Evanston, as well as chair of my ward, I told them absolutely! They can't register voters, vote or contribute, but they can take part in our local meetups, join Generation Dean, and work on the Get Out the Vote drive before and during the primary election in March.

The most touching thing to me was that they affirmed the Gov's statement that other countries used to look up to the US as a beacon of freedom and democracy. After what we've gone through the past two and a half years, I had begun to wonder whether that was really the truth. I can't tell you how thrilling it was to hear foreign students not only confirm that it is, but to watch them speaking the words of our founders along with the Gov while we were watching the DVD together.

God Bless Governor Dean for giving us reason to believe again, and for showing a few young French students that the spirit of America still burns bright.

looking it over one name stuck out at that was WilliamPitt, I believe he is supporting John Kerry, but has had kind words to say about Dean as well.

We Dean supporters first knew this campaign was going places when Jiacinto and IndianaGreen both announced their support the same day back in March!

I really like Dean AND I'll vote for whoever gets the nomination. One of the reasons I contribute to Dean is to demonstrate to future candidates that funding can be raised from the public without having to run to the corporations and be stuck in their pockets. This may be the most important long-term message of this campaign.

Can that defeatist attitude now! We've invested too much, and besides, I expected Clark to be a much more formidable opponent than he looks to be now. Dean is a far better candidate. Just wait until he is on stage at venues that more people watch.
