WMDs found in Iraq.
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 01:24 PM by tjwash
Looks like they finally found some chemical weapons in Iraq. They were not present before the invasion, yet are popping up more than a year after "mission accomplished."

Excerpt:

Boylan said the suspected lab was new, dating from some time after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.The Bush administration cited evidence that Saddam Hussein's government was manufacturing weapons of mass destruction as the main justification for the invasion. No such weapons or factories were found.

Link is right here in the Washington Post.

3. Yep. That's why I put the excerpt in there...
Throw it on to the rest of the steaming pile this administration has tried to feed the American People.

4. Did you see the photo of the "lab" they found?
I've seen photos of meth labs and stills that were more productive.

The administration is desperate. That scares the hell out of me. :scared:

6. ABC news in Philly was very careful yesterday
to report that it was believed these were created by insurgents after the war (news media isn't gonna be played the fool anymore!).

I don't remember the wording, but the gist, implied that it was probably foreign insurgents that made them. It is just sick. Now we have foreigners creating chemical weapons in a country that didn't have them for years!

9. WMD's are so last month...
...it's "spreading freedom" now (well it's certainly spreading SOMETHING that would make my lawn turn pretty green.)

Of course you realize that he will always have thirty percent of the population regardless, but as for the other seventy percent--it aint working anymore Georgie-boy. You can only take a giant dump, and try to convince the people that it will turn into a butterfly so many times. Even the whore press is starting to turn on you.

7. Nothing in the article indicates "WMDs found in Iraq"......
Unidentified chemicals found....big fucking deal. I've got some ugly looking stuff under the bathroom sink, but I doubt it would be considered weapons of mass destruction.

8. They Were Not Weapons
They were chemicals that could be used to create weapons....

Jesus Christ!

11. Who's to say that "lab" isn't a frigging meth lab?
I mean forgive me, but so far, none of their big claims have panned out. Front page discoveries, page 14 retractions- we all know that drill.

The fact that they aren't announcing what the intended chemical product is- or even the supposed precursors- makes me very suspicious.

13. The point is...
...they did not find ANY un-planted evidence, or chemicals (that the U.S. did not sell them), or any labs (that the U.S. did not build and operate for them) for WMDs or chemical weapons, BEFORE the invasion.

That did not stop them from making it entire premise for the illegal invasion in the first place.

Just like insurgency, terrorism, and a growing shiite theocracy, they are springing up now, over a year afterward.

15. The fact that it's post-invasion is only half of it.
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 01:55 PM by Stirk
Even their own claims are unsupported. They seem to be trying to morph what could be a post-invasion drug lab into a pre-invasion chemical weapons program. It's an enormous leap, even beyond the timeline. That was my point.

12. It's dual use chemicals. But not really a bad idea to assume the worse.
Just slap Bush everytime he forgets it's only ASSUMPTION at this point. One of the chemicals was Glycerin. You used to be able to buy that at the five and dime. Hell I probably still have a bottle of it in my medicine cabinet. Opps I think my age is showing. Everyone please turn your head while I tuck it back in.

14. Thread titles like this really bother me. No WMD's have been found
and statements like that can be very misleading.
