So what are we doing...
...to get this murderous, lying, chickenhawk hypocrite out of office?

Ya know, I was going to post this long diatribe about how frustrating it is that the Repugnants can mobilize every backwards-ass troglodyte in this country to support their Reign of Evil, including the Clinton conspiracy, the bastardization of our media and the murder of our own servicefolk and innocent civilians half the world away, while the Dems with any power in this country seem to be doing very little to buck this twisted system and good Democratic voters such as me and thee tend to do little more to fight the good fight than bitch about how much we hate Jr. and debate who we’re going to vote for next when we should be ripping the literal and figurative doors off this fucking administration, but it's just too much effort. I think I'm just going to go watch TV.

Mmmmm... TV.

1. remember all politics are local
here is what YOU can do.

Talk with locals and explain what is at stake

Register to vote and make sure people DO VOTE

Write letters to papers

Write letters to Congress

In other worlds there are times YOU have to lead!

I'm gonna have to get my ass off the couch and get out the staple gun. I've been planning on putting up fliers around town for a couple of weeks now. Been procastinating. Guess I better just go ahead and do it. :)

3. forget the brainrot of tv
put it out there amanda...

i know the whole administration is corrupt, i know a whole bunch in congress is corrupt and what are we the people who built this government dollar for dollar... with blood, sweat and tears going to do?

upon the backs of the slaves, the indians (natives) the poor... the democracy we hold so dearly is awash in aristocracy... level the playing field....

we are all equal... let go of celebrity icons.. don't want one don't want to be one....

that icon is from tv, music, politics, etc.

what i know ...... the elected or appointed emoployees of the people of this country are just as accountable as any employee who fucks up... and we fire them... spending our money... drowning we the people with debt... killing with our consent (they are our employees) ... if they blame some one else we'll fire them too... fuck, gut everyone and start anew with vigilance from the people...

this is all ours, it does not belong to anyone administration... they are not to convince us of their policies... they are there to carry out our policies... all executive orders are horseshit... all nsa, cia, fema and the such can go swish with the tidy bowl dude... if it ain't in the service of the people it ain't no good... all information must be presented to the people... we are the government... they are only fucking workers and they work for us...

ok... enough rant... thanks for the space ... how do we rip the doors off .... do you think 50 million angry folks is enough to walk into washington and take back this country from those who try to make the employers believe they are docile non-importants?

4. Ain't it the truth.
All we can do is hope that the foundations of this country will withstand the current anti-democratic spirit of the right wing and the media whores that empower them. It's difficult to believe we will really give away our freedoms and continue to endanger the world as we seem to be doing. As the Bush Regime is doing! Grrrr. Not "we". I always forget that... there's nothing remotely "American" about him or his pack of murdering, lying, treacherous thugs.

8. Note to self: Don't try to be ironic on 5 hours sleep.
I honestly can't remember the last time I voluntarily watched "regular" (i.e. non-BBC or IFC-related) television. But thank you all for your concern that my brain will rot out of my head nonetheless.

I merely wanted to vent a little frustration at the apparent lack of any action on the part of the party I love so dearly to do anything about the terrible state of this country. I DO protest, I HAVE marched against our attack of Iraq and Afghanistan, I HAVE written long, drawn-out, pleading letters to Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein asking them to motivate our Dem leaders in office to take a stand against the actions of this administration, as well as letters to local publications. I've signed up to volunteer on Kerry's campaign, I'm active in online political forums and movements and I've taken every effort to educate my friends, family and neighbors as to why Bush's policies are BAD for this country and why voting, regardless of how messed up our system, is SO very important. I have no guilty qualms as to whether or not I'm pulling my weight in bringing about a change for the better. I know I'm not the only Democrat singularly speaking out against the actions of this administration.

My concern is this: Many people, especially some younger Dems, mistakenly believe the current administration have only been in power for the last 3 or so years. The truth of the matter is that many of the same people who controlled our country (not "governed" but controlled) during Reagan's administration continue to be in power today. Bush I's people didn't stop working behind and in front of the scenes during the Clinton era. And there is nothing to indicate that this grip - this control - is going to fade away, even if a Dem comes out on top in the next election. Corporations like Halliburton, Harken and UNICAL dictate our foreign policy over any one person in our government, as have "think tanks" like this friendly group. Clear Channel and Murdoch own the airwaves to the point where spin-free, unbiased news is nearly impossible to find. (Thank Bob for NPR!) For fuck's sake - they even ADMITTED to a "shadow government" existing and millions of Americans, Dem and Repugnant alike, merely yawned and flipped to the latest episode of 'American Idol'.

None of this happened overnight. This has been "happening" for the last 20+ years. We have sit by and LET it happen. Individual outcries of rage over the sordid state of this nation's affairs are NOT going to change anything, as much as I would like for them to. Any progressive individual who speaks up against this administration continues to be labeled an anti-American "whiny liberal" and not taken seriously - even ignored by fellow so-called Democrats for being too extreme or aggressive. Larger demonstrations of outrage, such as the millions of letters and protests against Bush's actions overseas, have had no effect whatsoever on those who bastardize democracy in this country.

Waiting for a Democrat to win the next election is not going to solve our problems. And we've seen how little our elected officials are willing to do to salvage 20+ years of this party's mismanagement for the sake of professional security at the expense of our best interests. "Chilling out" and "chatting" makes me feel guilty and useless. Less talk, more action and definite impeachment needs to take place. And NOTHING is going to make a dent unless it happens en masse. So I ask again...

What are WE going to do to make things right?

(And some like-minded individuals say...)
