Bush will go on TEEVEE
& give a mea culpa speech himself.
It's too late, too many other they-did-it
stories are out already, but the only thing
that has a chance to staunch (sp?) the bleeding
is a prime-time speech saying the buck stops here.
They cant let an investigation(s) run on for
months. So it's a speech, mea culpa, prime
time.

Only problem is--it'll all be lies, new lies
on top of old lies, and the cycle starts all
over again, but the booshite will be ten feet
deeper this time.

1. He might throw Tenet
to the wolves first, but it will have no effect,
or make it all worse, then a couple days later
he gives his speech.

2. He will go on TV
And look into the camera and say "Iraq was payback for 9-11. Everyone who is questioning me now is dishonoring the memory of the brave first responders who died fighting for our freedom."

I should be a speechwriter.

Then you won't mind if I meet that statement and raise you on your evidence for the Iraqi involvement in 9/11, will you?

7. My answer:
"Polls show that most Americans know Saddam Hussein was behind the tragic events of September 11, 2001."

6. Naw, it'll be
"I did it, I put it in there, the buck stops here,
it's all my fault, I this, I that, I this, etc."

Again, it will only open up more cans o' worms,
but he has to do it. Rove & the other sleazoids
are writing it as we speak. They may not even
bother to ax Tenet, they'll pass go straight
to the speech of all mothers.

8. No press conference
I dont believe * would even survive
a press conf at this point, literally.
I think the wheels would explode out of his head,
gears and rubber bands flying everywhere.

9. Even more likely to get a put-up job...
... they'll find the reporter that asked him if his faith carried him through difficult times... give him an opportunity to talk about his personal relationship with God, and all the proles will go, "see, I told you he was a man of great honesty and faith."

Never expect a Bush to tell the truth, ever. More than ever, one needs to remember what Molly Ivins has said, "watch what he does, not what he says."

Cheers.

14. Choices
1. Another war (with what troops? & what popular support?)

2. Find Saddam, Osama or MWDs (can't wait, patient bleeding profusely)

3. Terrorist attack (even that won't help him at this point)

4. Press conference (no way, even with Cheney, Rice, Rummy & the whole neo-con mafia beside him to cover his idiocy with more BS)

5. mea culpa speech which will include as many mistakes, errors, bad decisions and bald-faced Hail Mary lies as they can stuff in the turkey, then plop it on the table, along with a plea for the peoples' support for the tough road ahead in Iraq, & pray

17. Will he just resign?
how can he keep this up?

at what point will the press do what they SHOULD have done during the selection campaign, and start pointing out what is SO fricking OBvious to ANYbody that's been paying the slightest bit of attention.

that's by FAR the most galling aspect of this whole sad tale.

just think, if they'd done their job, he'd never be there, 911 would probably not have happened, and if it did, we certainly wouldn;t have invaded Iraq.

the economy wouldn't be in the toilet

NO TIA

No Patriot Act

No Ashcroft

No Ari

No Rove

No Cheney

No Santorum (with power, anyway)

No Frist as SML

all of this comports with people realizing just how heinous are the pugs, and congressional elections would've turned out much differently.

there'd STILL be Neil Bush, over in Bangkok, though, hitting all those B-girls

WHERE's THAT story, BTW?

nothing much about that......imagine if it'd been Roger C.
