My Hero ~ My Son
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 07:17 AM by votesomemore
A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life:
soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war.

I don't want to get too specific with this, but I am the mom of a Hero.
He is an officer and gentleman. And loves to have fun.
Well rounded and trained to do his job. I'm so proud of him. Though of course I'm a pacifist to the max.

We've just spent a few days playing and hugging.

Next month he goes "down range". That means into hell on earth created by George W. Bush and his devil minions.

All our men and women who have gone down due to an unscrupulous, greedy, diabolical, unthinkable little wrinkles on time are HEROES.

Don't even know what I'm posting about.
We want them to come home.
We want Peace. Is that so hard?
They are Heroes after all.

Vigil in Austin.

6. I have no doubt
he will return safely. I just don't want anyone else to get hurt.

Enough already.

4. Incredibly well put, I know what you were posting about... and from one
pacifist to another, I so very much agree with you.

So glad that you have gotten some quality time in with your hero.

May he return quickly with all his comrades in arms.

5. I'm gathering a group to go
to a local Vigil here tonight.

Never an activist (until now), always a pacifist.

Let's bring them home and throw the big bumm out.

Thanks.

8. Yep george made an activist out of me as well.
Though I started fighting him before he even won his primary. Im a pagan, and when the military made it ok for pagans to have use of on base chapels for services there was little hub bub about it. Especially at Ft Hood, which has the largest population of military pagans. So georie being the dictator of Texas at that point cam out and said that basically he didn't think it was a real religion and that this shouldn't be allowed...

That and the fact that his poppy lied all about the first gulf war (though at least he wasn't completely insane like his little boots), made me have great unease about him from the get go.

I had done some earth activism before then, but nothing like now.... My activism and yours and everyone elses that I see are the only things that give me any hope.

Im sure you can relate....

Thank you for your son and thank you for your deep love of peace.

9. real religion?
Well.. I'm a Pagan too  and that means NO RELIGION for me!
So that puts me out of the loop? So much for separation, eh?

My religion is "none". Put that in the check box.

I did not want to get into controversy during this visit. Not a lot of talk of religion/politics.

Although he questioned me more than ever about spirituality (that makes sense given the circumstance) . his and mine differ.
We both know where we stand. That's okay. He is a good man.

It comes in handy not being a fundy and all.

Thanks for making me feel better.

7. He is a hero to all of us

Vigil in Chelsea, MI, for me - and I just got confirmation from my dad that he and my mom are going to a vigil in Leesburg, FL.

We will get them home, safe, soon. We have no other choice. We will not give up.

Beautiful baby. yeah. My son was not a disadvantaged youth, as is so often the sterotype presented on these pages.

He had a dream. He lives it. That's special.

It emphasizes the immorality of the current madman in charge. Takes dreams and turns them into nightmares.
