It's possible that on October 24th, 2001 she was busy, or giving blood, or volunteering her time.

Not definite, but possible.

10. She probably does have a valid reason for not being at the vote.
She's pretty darn conservative and probably would have voted "yes" for the thing without shame.

7. Yep She was the one no vote
I can't imagine how anyone would justify a no vote on such a piece of legislation. I wonder if there is any record of her trying to stop it or force further debate. The choice is shameful without any other action.
