Wilson Affair: Who sets the media’s agenda???
6 weeks ago, here on DU someone wondered why the media did not print follow-ups to the Wilson-affair. It simply wasn’t an issue to the media.

What happened to all the news that was "in progress". Was everything resolved?

* Do we know next steps in 911 invesitgation and 28 pages ?
* What about the "outing" of Ambassador Wilson's wife as a CIA agent? Has it been determiend who did this?
These are major stories...what the hell happened to the coverage?
.

Many people here on DU were convinced at that time that to uncover Mr. Wilson’s wife as a CIA operative was indeed a scandal. Why did the media not think so 6 weeks ago but makes a hype of it now?

1. Can you fix the link?
Good question - why was this issue virtually ignored for weeks?

3. The "Liberal" media...
has been one of the chimp's most influential friends since they played down all of the stories that would have sunk any Democratic candidate in the 2000 selection. It should come as no surprise that they wanted this story to go away, but thanks to a few brave reporters
that appears to have failed. It may still happen but this has at least cast a little more doubt on the Mayberry Machiavellis.

5. mainstream media is out of control
I'm still amazed at the difference in coverage between Clinton and Bush. They would spend months, even years dogging Clinton for everything from the travel office to a blow job. Everyday, the headlines reflected this bias. And now, when the lies are causing the deaths of THOUSANDS of people, destroying the economy and the environment, and destroying our international standing, all they can talk about is how great everything is.

In my opinion, when we have managed to get the neocons out of the WH, our next step should be to hold the media accountable for this shameless act.

6. Personally I think
that Tenent asked for the investigation back in July and when he saw no movement he did something about. Maybe he talked to a journalist or maybe he put a bug in the ear of a senator and that person talked to a journalist.

I think that there is only so much crap that the CIA will take. They had to take the bullet about the enriched uranium and are now taking heat about pre-war intelligence. Many sources from the CIA have been reported to say that they were pressured by the WH to come up with intelligence to match what they wanted to do and have finally said enough is enough.

8. Has the FBI no duty to investigate a federal crime on their own?
If there is a suspicion that a federal crime has been committed, is the FBI not required to investigate the matter? Or has someone to order them to do so?
