Last Day: DU Senate Candidate Needs Your Help
Folks,

98% of Senate activity affects all of the country. My race against Arlen Specter represents a great opportunity to regain control of the Senate, where the deciding vote on a number of issues has been Dick Cheney.

My opponents--Joe Hoeffel(D) in the primary and Arlen Specter(R) in the general, both supported the war and voted for the Patriot Act. They are also self-described Free Traders, enabling the gutting of the middle class and the rapid exit of US white collar jobs.

I was against the war for a number of reasons, but primarily because it legitimized the Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/Cheney/Bush policy of pre-emptive unilateral military intervention based on a perceived threat, or in the case of Iraq, a manufactured threat. This is not a policy you can apply universally with any success. Hoeffel and Specter did not ask the hard questions and did not stand up when we needed them to.

We can fight back. Big Corporate America has a seat at the table, but regular folks don't. This leads to policies for the few and wealthy and the expense of the rest of us. I am fighting to get us a seat at the table, for economic justice, and social justice. Currently I'm meeting with disenfranchised white collar workers across the country who, like blue collar workers, have been sold down the river for the sole benefit of multi-nationals and their overpaid executives.

But we can stop the madness. We just need to act. Today we've launched a campaign against these practices--we must change the course of the country before the election, when it may be too late for many people.

So far I've funded my campaign myself. But I need your help. As my campaign staff reminds me--"the revolution will not be televised if we don't raise the money." Please help make a difference through your support of my campaign.

Thank you,

Charlie Crystle

1. I wish I could!
Unfortunately, I was laid off Aug 22nd and my husband has been out of work since April. We are absolutely flat broke.

10. This is a national election...we take all funders!
While you can't vote here, you definitely can contribute!

Most of what happens in the Senate affects all of us; Specter sent the nomination of Judge Pryor to the Senate floor, and if he makes it through it effects all of us. Specter voted for the war, the Patriot Act, and the tax cuts--all which effect all of us.
