CNN going with "Leakgate"

I think this is the first brand name atttached by a big, fancy news organ.

ps: i find the "gate" suffix to be completely tiresome, just as I find "aholic" to be
My problem.

2. We have to pound the word "Traitorgate" home
Pound the fact that if the allegations are true, this is nothing short of treason.

23. But of course the media goes with leaky gate...

to make it seem less important than it really is.

It's like changing shell-shock to combat fatigue wich then becomes Post Viet Nam Stress Disorder.

These guys love to softball everything.

If we every get to the impeachment of crotchsock then they will surely call it an exit interview.

I am in agreement on the treason issue. Maybe Annthrax will finally learn what the word really means.

in which case, maybe Leakgate is appropriate, indeed.

24. I like it! And it's apt, too.
Because the leak leads straight to the Niger purchase and the falsification of evidence to take America into war.

6. The sure are good at changing the issues...
The fact there was no Iraqi attempt to buy uranium from Niger became "The 16 Words in the SOTU."

The fact they threatened a man's wife is now about "Leaks?"

25. Traitor's Gate
is a waterside entrance to the Tower of London.
Prisoners who'd done crimes to the Crown, thus "traitors" were brought through this gate and into their new prison homes.

Traitor's Gate is a 3D Game

Traitor's Gate is referred to in "Man Out of Time" from my favourite Elvis Costello album, Imperial Bedroom.

Man Out of Time
<<So this is where he came to hide
When he ran from you
In a private detective's overcoat
And dirty dead man's shoes

The pretty things of Knightsbridge
Lying for a minister of state
Is a far cry from the nod and wink
Here at Traitor's Gate

'Cause the high heel he used to be has been ground down
And he listens for the footsteps that would follow him around

To murder my love is a crime
But will you still love
A man out of time

There's a tuppeny hapenny millionaire
Looking for a fourpenny one
With a tight grip on the short hairs
Of the public imagination

But for his private wife and kids somehow
Real life becomes a rumour
Days of dutch courage
Just three French letters and a German sense of humour

He's got a mind like a sewer and a heart like a fridge
He stands to be insulted and he pays for the privilege

(chorus)

The biggest wheels of industry
Retire sharp and short
And the after dinner overtures
Are nothing but an after thought
Somebody's creeping in the kitchen
There's a reputation to be made
Whose nerves are always on a knife's edge
Who's up late polishing the blade

Love is always scarpering or cowering or fawning
You drink yourself insensitive and hate yourself in the morning

(chorus)

11. leakgate
the suffix "gate" has entered our national conciousness and I don't think it's going away any time soon. Look what it did for Nixon! But I do think that it sort of cheapens Watergate if every scandal is referred to as "(blank)gate"; ie, "Monicagate". I sure do hope that Bush 2 doesn't supplant Reagan as the "teflon president". I hope this sticks!

13. I prefer TraitorGate
but what I really want is someone in the fucking media to earn their megabucks. WHY was it important for the ambassador's wife to be outed? Because her husband had information that proved that Bush's SOTUA was crap. That is a central point.

It was wrong info and people were misled to support Bush* into war. Hundreds of soldiers and thousands of Iraqis died because Bush lied.

Bush* Co then plays dirty pool to punish the transgressor. That act is illegal. He ignores requests for info until the major media picks up on it.

The whole package should be clear for any hack journalist - the entire Bush (mis)administration is rotten to the fucking core and is a cancer on democracy and the very life of this nation. If you area journalist and are not connecting the links then you are complicant in this treason.
