Dressed like Cheney I take over Santa Barbara - A New Flash movie!
During the Reunion of Anti War Protesters in Santa Barbara last Saturday my pals and I dressed up like Cheney (me), Bush (Wearing a Flight Suit and an Alfred E. Newman mask) and Colin Powell..

We cruised with the protesters for over an hour in a 1937 Rolls Royce and harrassed people in the street, threw money at the crowd (911 Deception Dollars - a whole shopping bag full) and just went nuts in general --

The crowd went wild, the people in the streets had a blast and the Santa Barbara News Press MADE NO MENTION OF IT.

Mind you, we had all the permits and we surrounded BY COPS and Photographers the whole time -- this is on a Saturday - no MENTION.

Not only that, but the Protest was held LITERALLY in the Back Yard of the NEW PRESS with 30 windows looking down at the crowd of over 350 people, banners, booths, speakers, stage, Glen Phillips of "Toad the Wet Sprocket" play over a 5000 watt sound system..

NO MENTION.

So watch the fun, and please CALL or WRITE or EMAIL The Santa Barbara New Press (the clickable link is in the flash) and TELL THEM TO STOP BEING A RIGHT WING RAG!

Here's the fun!

23. so that's what an "undisclosed location" looks like?
Wow! I'm going to save up my money and buy me a sweet bunker-on-wheels just like Dick's!

Great going, Symbolman and friends! I would pay (real) money to see George n' Laura (Ladies Home Journal eat your heart out!), Dick, Rummy, Colin, and the whole gang squeezed into that car, like a bunch of clowns at a parade! Plus someone in a Tony Blair mask running along behind, hollering "wait for me, chaps!"

2. "It's your money" would be a great politcal cartoon
Bush/Cheney handing big bucks to Halliburton/Etc and saying "Its your money".

3. bwhahahahha
that's the spirit!

Planning on doing similar hijinks at the DC protest later this month... I'm guessing they'll frown on such activity by those blessed, homeland-secure monuments... gawd bless halloween masks:

the Cheney mask is too SMILEY. They need to make a SNARLY version.

4. Yeah, he looks more like a stroke victim with that snarl
my apologies to stroke victims for associating you with that slimeball..

It was a lot of fun, we may be thinking about going to LA and doing it, I want to contact some folks down there and maybe get some talent to help us..

it was FUN, people need to make it more FUN to protest, sure it's a serious subject but we need to get folks more involved..

lemme tell you this, people went nuts and they'll tell their pals and more will come the next time!

thanks folks

11. Symbolman, you got range dude!
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 09:33 PM by DemoTex
If the 9-11 piece with the WTC towers and the Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem anchors the serious end of your work, this great little skit has to anchor the comedic end. Too much, man. I'm happy to spread this and tell my friend that I kind-of, sort-of know you. Keep up the amazing work.

15. Hell DemoTex
YOU have Range, you've been everywhere AND know a good song when you hear it..

I remember you talking about Bush in those shiny shoes in that photo of him in the Air Guard near a plane, and how the pic was total BS.. It dawned on me then, and I even Knew better..

I admire you deeply, you're a true american - especially being a Vet myself (USAF 1971-74), who never had to get his hands that dirty, thanks to guys like you -- and the Sullivan Act, which kept me from the heavy stuff, but my brother was over there..

I DID purchase Joysticks and implements of destruction as I was a purchasing agent, so I was supplying ya'll.. had your back :)

Thanks, we're both inspiring people in one way or another - I know you've inspired me..

16. It's my pals
he was driving it, wearing the Alfred E Newman mask and the flight suit -- I couldn't stop laughing when he came dressed like that.. we taped AWOL on his back ..

This car is worth about 250,000 bucks, one of a kind for that year, once owned by some Indian Prince..

He's a nice guy, dedicated to getting the word out and a lot of fun..

And you make me nostalgic for my days in Santa Barbara: 1982-1984. Just about had a nervous breakdown when I had to get a job and leave town.

20. It really was a MOMENT Proudpatriot..
At one point we stopped the car and I stood up and turned around and there were 350 people there that HATED Cheney and Bush.. and I WAS Cheney, it was eerie.. almost like a Karmic or Psychic "purge" for the crowd..

they were chanting IMPEACH BUSH, and that was the nicer stuff, and it was directed at me..

I was literally rolling around in the money (having a series of articulated heart attacks) as photogs snapped pics..

It was really FUN throwing money at them, and saying all the evil things that Cheney WOULD say if he wanted to..

I was taking money - tempting kids from the sidewalk to come closer, holding out the money, then Snatching it back and laughing in their faces (I gave the the money after that - big stacks of it) -- they were getting a great impression of that face snatching bucks from them... hope that stuck.. they knew I was playing, it was cool..

A few right wingers, but MOST all of the people driving by on the side roads were laughing their asses off..

It really was a lot of fun, hope to maybe replicate it this Oct (25th or so) in LA.. we'll see..

but not without a star in the car, and Secret Service guys running at the side talking into their wrists :)
