By helicopter out of the top ? By boat ? Just heard on WWL TV there are at least 15K or more now in the Superdome. On edit: I really meant after the hurricane passes, sorry.

9. I looked for white women in that line
I swear I couldn't find any. Have you seen a white pregnant woman? Did you see any white women at all? Please tell me that you have.

17.  french-canadian woman
Oh hell, she doesn't count.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I am just so disturbed over that long line of black folk waiting to get in the Superdome. I am trying to shake it off but it won't go anywhere.

I need to know that there was as least one wealthy white christian blond woman (or couple, or family, preferably American born and bred, who "chose" to stay.

25. Hey! Those Acadians were the earliest Euro settlers in the North American
part of the continent. Mayflour folks are johnny come latelies to them. French population of Louisiana lived for 200 years in Bay of Fundy before they were kicked out and founded Louisiana. Just tell Bush they are "founding families" (don't mention Canada) and he'll save them all.

15. I saw a couple, but I watched a l.o.n.g time
I've been watching the news all day, and in the last couple hours of daylight, there were some young white women in line. Sadly, they were part of groups of what appeared to be college kids. There are tons of college kids without cars, so I imagine quite a few will end up in the Superdome. :(

College kids, with no way out. Unable to get flights. I am taking my kid to college tomorrow. I can imagine the panic of their parents.

5. I would imagine they would be boated out
I don't think we have many of those big transport helicopters here since they are scavaging the desert looking for old helicopters to fix up to take to Iraq.
Wouldn't it be nice to see Marine 1 involved in the evacuations?

11. That would be my guess. Helicopters wouldn't be the most efficient.

6. No helicopter can combat hurricane force winds...
They're hoping that they can move people up into the bleachers off the field, to avoid the water...

14. They could have been busing these people out using public transport
But instead, they'd rather the public busing just sit there. The buses will be underwater tomorrow anyway. Why waste them when they could do some good?

23. Since the water will be 15 feet high - they could send in a destroyer or
two and take them by sea to some safe pour. Zodiak boats and the like. Helicopters. They can do it. And you bet that they have tons of gasoline and the like being driven to NO right now... being stored in safe places, so that they can move the people out.
