Another Reuters Staffer Killed by U.S. Forces in Iraq

http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001050106

A Reuters Television soundman was shot
dead in Baghdad on Sunday and a cameraman who was wounded was still being questioned by U.S. troops 12 hours later.

Iraqi police said the two, both Iraqis, were shot by U.S.
forces. A U.S. military spokesman said the incident was being investigated. The cameraman was being held and questioned because of "inconsistencies in his initial testimony", he added.

The only known witness, he was later detained by the U.S.
troops. For 10 hours, U.S. officers said they could not trace Kadhem. Finally a spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Whetstone, said he was being held at an unspecified location. His "superficial" wound had been treated "on location", he said.

Two Iraqi colleagues who arrived on the scene minutes after the shooting were briefly detained and released. "They treated us like dogs. They made us ... including Khaled who was wounded and asking for water, sit in the sun on the road," one said.

1. Yeah, I read about this yesterday.
The money quote is that this is the 66th journalist killed in Iraq since major combat operations began. That's 3 more than in 20 years of fighting in Vietnam.

This administration is targeting journalists.

4. What I don't understand
Is how any of the neocons think our citizens in our nation will fare any better under these thugs. I don't get it. We're all bugs to them, the neocons in power, all bugs, conservtives and liberals alike. I wish they'd wake the heck up and realize it.

They already manhandle protesters and anyone that speaks out publicly. Why in the world do they think the lion in their den will only attack non-Christians? There is no reason for that thought process. None at all.

5. Inconsistencies in his initial testimony
After just being shot and witnessing the murder of his friend, I would expect nothing less. There is EVIL and it comes with a name george w. bush*
