2. Ari announced his resignation on May 19 -- WAY before the Novak article
The Novak article was published July 14, almost two months AFTER Ari had already announced his intention to resign. I don't believe there is any connection.

11. How could the CIA file a complaint in JUNE, when the "outing"

didn't happen until JULY 14?

I hope you won't take offense, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree on this particular bit.

As near as I can tell, the formal CIA complaint to the Justice Department was filed around Sept. 26.

on edit: here's a link to msnbc breaking the story about the CIA requesting the Justice Department to investigate: http://msnbc.com/news/937524.asp?0cv=CB10

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 - The CIA has asked the Justice Department to investigate allegations that the White House broke federal laws by revealing the identity of one of its undercover employees in retaliation against the woman’s husband, a former ambassador who publicly criticized President Bush’s since-discredited claim that Iraq had sought weapons-grade uranium from Africa, NBC News has learned.

9. Right, even the freepers were speculating about Ari and the
timeline of when he resigned etc.

Gee, are WH people who have resigned going to be investigated?

Scott M should be asked this question. I alread emailed about 5 reporters (including Helen Thomas) on this.

...in which one of the questions asked was concerning Wilson's statements regarding the yellowcake. Ari announced he was leaving quite some time in advance though. Who knows. Maybe he was becoming uncomfortable with some of their methods. On the whitehouse website, they alternately refer to Press Briefings, and Press Gaggles. What's up with that?

I also find Rice with Ari, commenting on Wilson on the 11th of July
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/07/20030711-7.html

Also, there's this on the 7th of July:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/07/20030707-5.html

It is rather odd, but I seem to remember his "handing in his resignation" about 2 weeks to a month before he actually officially resigned...

7. I believe that Ari actually knows too much, and he actually has a decent
bone in his body, which is why he resigned.

10. The plot thickens
maybe Ari, overwhelmed with guilt which caused him to resign, will cop a deal for a slap on the wrist if he'll name names.
