I guess ESPN just didn't understand that hiring Rush was a recipe for disaster. Rush just doesn't know when to keep his big, racist trap shut. Glad to see him get what's coming to him for a change.

Lots of people watch creepy shows on TV - like when you're flipping the dial and you come across a bunch of people yelling on one of those talk shows. It's somehow mesmerizing. For a few minutes. Like watching a car wreck. Like listening to O'Reilly on FOX yell "SHUT UP!"

But it doesn't mean that people are taking these stations SERIOUSLY. That's the distinction that the broadcast media needs to learn. They hired Rush because he was "controversial" and they heard that Fox had high ratings. That doesn't mean that people LIKE watching that crap. If a house was burning down, you'd stop and watch that too. Doesn't mean you like watching it.

I like to think our DU letters helped ESPN to persuade him to resign. :bounce:
