Know of Any Companies Offering Food/Water?
Anheuser-Busch Increases Water Donations To 825,000 Cans To Aid Hurricane Katrina Victims

Anheuser-Busch Foundation Also Donates $250,000 To the Red Cross Relief Efforts

ST. LOUIS (Aug. 30, 2005) – In response to requests from relief agencies following the tremendous damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers have now shipped more than 825,000 cans of safe drinking water to victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Separately, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation announced today that it is donating $250,000 to Red Cross relief efforts along the Gulf Coast.

“Our sympathy goes out to all victims of Hurricane Katrina, and this donation will help those who have been most affected by the storm,” said Patrick Stokes, president and chief executive officer of Anheuser-Busch Companies. “Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers are always among the first to lend a hand to those in need, helping them get back on their feet.”

2. Wal-Mart
Per Salvation Army website, Wal-Mart
contributed a whopping 1 mil to the hurricane fund;

per DUer Zuni today,
Walton (Wal-mart) heirs worth more than nation of Egypt

http://www.laborresearch.org/story.php?id=356

The five members of the Walton family of Wal-Mart fame could cash in their assets ($102.5 billion) and purchase the entire 2003 output of Egypt's 65 million citizens ($98.5 billion).

Corporate cash. General Motors is currently sitting on enough cash ($55 billion) to fund the federal government's health care budget for 2004 ($52 billion).

Kind of puts their generosity in perspective.

4. In the midwest floods of 93, I drank quite a few cans of water from A-B.
I was 17 year old sandbagging alongside National Gaurdsmen and cross-country truckers who were driving cross country and got the call that volunteers were needed. We fought that damn river and fucking won. For weeks we were on that levy and by the end when you were standing on the levy, the river was two feet below the sandbags on one side and the rooftops of the small river town downtown were below us on the other. Perhaps the best, most gratifying three weeks of my life. I need to go to Louisiana. Fuck it. I am going.

5. My little company is donating to the Red Cross
My boss, a big hulking ex high school football player, came into work crying over what is happening in New Orleans, and ordered me to donate money to the Red Cross. I had to wait until I came home to find the address because none of the phone numbers in the phone book worked! Glad I knew I could come here to find a link. (No, there's no internet at my office).
