Bill O'Reilly makes sense for once
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 07:07 PM by Zuni
calls on oil companies to reduce profit margins by at least 20% for the benefit of America. Says oil companies who keep charging very high prices in the wake of this disaster will be trashed on his program. Normally Bill O'Reilly is a bloviating ass. Every now and then he says something that makes sense

19. Isn't that sad, though? You're right.
Bush's ratings were dropping mostly because the rising gas prices made any argument against him attractive.

10. Resident Nero should be calling for that! Not telling us that the
high prices are a result of the hurricane! :argh: Congress should demand that Resident Vacation do exactly that, or face investigations.

11. What? I was told that if we only reduced taxes on the wealthy, they'd
give money to the needy themselves! I thought that was why we didn't need to tax them or use the tax money for social programs. Is Bill seriously suggesting they might not do that?? My goodness!!!

because charitable giving hasn't gone up and private charities, other than the heavy hitters like the Red Cross are not going to be able to do squat in a disaster of this magnitude Without Bush's tax cuts we would have a BUDGET SURPLUS to spend on emergencies like this

15. Windfall profit tax on oil? So Jimmy Carter.
Help me out on this. Wasn't it Jimmy who put that one in the last time we had gas/oil rationing during that REAL Seventies Show? My mood ring's no help.

18. Amazing what people will say when their pocketbooks get hit
Bush's poll numbers according to USA Hooray, the Nation's Coloring Book say he is at 40% approval for overall job performance and 53% for his handling of "terrorism", but 26% for his handling of the gas price crisis. Nobody cares until it comes out of their wallets.

31. Yeah that'll happen-sarcastic eye roll
O'Rielly says something like this just to look human. In another few days it'll be the same ole same ole-Cindy Sheehan is a terrorist and Michael Moore and the ACLU are evil. I haven't watched him since 2003-back then he promised-HA DE FUCKING HA-to "hold the president accountable if no WMD were found." Such FOLLOW UP from this "I'm not a Republican, I'm an independent water carrrying Bush licking lover." (sorry my one media rant for the day)
