prices ridiculous

my parents went to get gas today. one station was $2.85 but out of regular, another was $2.99 for regular with a long line and others were already above $3 a gallon

hey hey president bush, how about investigating the gouging going on?

this is fraggin sick. the gas out there now was refined and bought weeks ago. how much do you want to bet that exxon-mobil, BP-Amacco , et al will show record billion of dollars in profits this year? think its a coincidence? i think not. they are price gouging plain and simple.

and not the local dealer, they have very little control over the prices. they are told what to charge and when to raise prices.
are we going back to the 70's when we had gas rationing (even day and odd day)?

Right now, I think half of the people are filling up while the prices are still "low"... if you can call $3+ low. The other half are panicking and hoarding for fear of shortages.

I myself am guilty of both. I topped off both vehicles and filled up my gas can for the lawnmower. I went to the local Lowes to get two 5 gallon cans and fill them up just in case, but apparently everyone else had the same idea because they were sold out.

The gas station I went to was also out of regular. They were raising the prices as I got there, and when I left, there was a line forming behind me.
