Senator Landrieu regarding failures: "The truth will speak for itself."
Senator Landrieu is on Larry King now.

She said there will be time later for discussing what all went wrong, now is not the time for that, now the main thing is rescue.

She said "The truth will speak for itself."

6. Very politic, very polite.

Professionalism is absolutely necessary now in our politicians. One focus only. No guitars, no birthday cakes, no bike rides with boyfriends.

But there will be mighty hell to pay.

I've always admired Sen. Landrieu.

2. I believe that she and Gov. Blanco are doing a very good job...
at actually leading the state through the last few days. OTH, Sen. Vitter is almost invisible. Power of having a Democrat in the Governor's mansion.

7. The whole state was a disaster waiting to happen. The bowl of NO
was mentioned in a Scientific American article, discussed on PBS's Newshour tonight with Gwen Ifell. And I hear that since 1963 the Atchafalaya River is seeking to rechannel and capture the Mississippi away from New Orleans. With rising floodwaters upstream on the Ohio, eventually that may happen.

John McPhee talks of this in his book The Control of Nature.

Let nature have her way and just get outta the way and say ole !
